It wasnt for no reason tbf, a United player a few seconds earlier had gone absolutely flying into a tackle.

I imagine both the time to do that and having 3000 folks milling about outside while it's done would have been prohibitive.

Yeah he was there again today. 
Pitch looked great again today. Hopefully money well spent.

The problem for the club, and I said this back in the summer, is while today they probably did the best they could with a difficult, short notice issue the goodwill has gone. Fans are expecting better service. That may be deemed unrealistic but the smallest things will be viewed very critically now. This happens last season it would barely be mentioned again.
 
Btw watching the highlights, i'm not having Diabate's 2nd yellow. Not a chance, I'd barely class it as fould. Yeah he made a mistake but football is a contact sport. Worse challenges made all match.

Really good performance against a tricky Hibs side. Though we were comfortable most of the game apart from gifting them a goal and a couple of chances.
Some excellent play the whole match from us. Alic looks fantastic, solid enough at the back but excellent going forward.
Thought Cotterill looked very tidy when he came on. I think Jury still out on Tait, felt he was slow to get into position at times and am little behind the play. The German lad looks like he'll be a nuisance but looked a bit rusty.

St Mirren only gave Celtic a limited number of tickets. Impressive home turnout if 6900 is accurate.

I don't think I'll ever see a player have such a drastic change again. That first half at Alloa, McPake genuinely looked like he'd never seen a football before. Levein gets credit for bringing him in but Simo got something out of him somehow. Hearts manager getting the praise (see latest BBC article) but everything he's doing right now is what we saw last year. He's just doing it against better players.
As an aside, hopefully the new Scotland manager will have seen with his own eyes that Hanley should be nowhere near his squad.

Bring back reserve team football so those under 21 can play mens football not just age related groups.  Would make the step up to first team far easier

Not sure Simo's comments after that match are encouraging. Insists the league will be different as opposition will play different, not us. 
My issues with that are:
- what if they don't and look at choking our attack as it's so easy 2 league 1 teams could do it. Why would opposition play to our supposed strengths
- if opposition do play different, more of the game will be played in our half, where we're already making unforced errors.
I do believe less defence minded teams will allow our forward players more space...but how do we find them, passing is absolutely dire right now

However a defeat against a newly promoted Championship side, and the nature of the performance does warrant some reaction.
Players and coaches have rightly pointed to our positive start in the cup last year and how it led to our fantastic start in the league. Does a less than positive cup campaign hinder our start? Why that performance now? Fans are justified in questioning the team.
The season ticket affair does not help but can't be dismissed as fans just having a moan. It represents a genuine issue the club need to address in that a disconnect has appeared and could impact attendance, revenue etc... Bad results highlight the feeling more but it's going to be there long term, regardless of some people think it shouldn't
