I'm going to stick my neck out and predict this will not be Callum Davidson's gameplan. 

I've seen some of the spelling attempts at Ciftci but this is the nadir.

Must have been that knock on the head he got on the Hampden park dressing room door.

That's why when they play O'Halloran and Rooney they keep running into each other both wanting to play wide on the wing.

You have to laugh at saints fans . Moan if it’s a loan , moan we’re giving players contracts , moan that it’s a defender , moan that they don’t keep it quiet , moan that the club don’t tell them anything , moan that we don’t have enough midfielders , moan that we don’t have enough attackers , moan that we never preempt a player leaving, moan when do preempt a player leaving .

I imagine the thinking about whether to sign a player just now is along the lines of:
1/ Has he had his booster?
2/ Can he drive himself to away games?
3/ Does the Millwall Manager like him?

Playing a middle-aged bloke is a bit desperate, even if he is the Chairman.

Strange as in his first few games, his passing completion was streets ahead of anyone else in the team. Haven’t seen stats since then but I think he’s a superb player. 

I think fitness is a key thing for Davidson, as he has the players chasing every ball for the whole game. It might be that he's waiting, not just until Melamed is up to his normal fitness, but and improvement on that. I think I read that he's already scored in a behind-closed-doors game.

Absolutely incredible you can win a game 7-0 and still get criticised.

I'm intrigued by Davidson's comments that he 'liked the look of him in the videos'. Sounds like he hasn't seen any more of him than any of us have. How did this even come about? I'm doubting we have contacts in Israel. Was he sending videos of himself to clubs in Scotland in the hope of getting a deal?
Davidson also said we were choosing between a 'target man or someone to score goals' and we 'went for the latter'. Not quite sure what the use of a target man who doesn't score goals would be, but I'm glad we did.

You always get the attention seekers that have to be OUTRAGED about absolutely everything but for the sane section of our support that are even countenancing this, give yourselves a shake. 
The man is 9 games into a managerial career. Unprecedented times with the pandemic, added to working under a structure where money is more of a concern than success. His team have been on the wrong end of some tight swings.
Get behind the man and offer him the support that makes his job that bit easier and doesn't pile unnecessary pressure on him and his players. 
Thankfully, for his faults, Steve Brown won't wet the bed and will give Callum Davidson the time he needs but more importantly, certainly deserves.

This season is just about getting through it, whilst staying afloat, considering the season could be delayed multiple times or even cancelled. Therefore, I'm not too bothered that we're signing players on loan or 1 year deals. If by next Summer Covid has disappeared, we can wave the likes of Bryson & Conway goodbye, thank them for helping us through a tricky season and start to assess the budget properly and sign players for the future.

Can't decide if it was the red card or hooking Rooney that made the difference, but we bossed the last 30 minutes. COYS.
Liam played a blinder. I now understand why Callum's been starting a kids from the Millwall reserves at right back after seeing how shite Rooney is.

Just catching up with the comments on here and bit surprised by how negatively some people viewed it. I thought that was a really promising performance, given it was the manager's first game and the team's first proper game in a new system. I thought our players looked very, very sharp and fit - much fitter than the United team - and our passing became more and more crisp and confident as the match went on. Take out the soft penalty, and MOH losing the head, and I think we may have won that quite comfortably. Only disappointment for me was in the closing stages when we seemed to camp back in our own half and let United come at us - I guess perhaps our players were shattered by then.
I remain unconvinced by the new formation but the players certainly seemed up for making it work. I do think that if the plan is to play our left wing-back so far up the park it would make sense for it to be Tanser rather than Booth. Also not keen on Wotherspoon playing so far up the park, although that said he had a terrific game. I think this is going to be a big season for Spoony.
I was also pretty pleased with the stream itself, as I was expecting one camera following the whole match from the Main Stand, but it turned out to be the BBC feed which meant we got different angles, close-ups, replays etc. Obviously they were having some teething problems with the commentary, but hey, it was Day 1. I'm just glad we got to hear that Sean Dillon apparently doesn't understand the back-pass rule, after 20 years of playing professional football as a defender.
 

Thought we were terrific second half, played more football throughout that game than most of last season. McNamara looked good second half as did the rest! Excited to see this team going forward.
Worth noting that we had played 2 less friendlies than United so lack of sharpness and actual getting used to the shape and formation was expected.

M8 if you're going to pull someone up about use of vocabulary make sure you get yours perfect. 
On to my other point, if you can tell how good Drey runs off the ball, tracks back etc when play is on the other side, while sitting half the way across the planet, watching on tv. Well that tells me all I need to know about how you read a game of football.

As an east stand season ticket holder, it didn’t bother me in the slightest. Take the money and spend it on the squad.....and do it as often as you want.

He would instantly improve our defence, then when fit would probably be our best player. We probably have no chance of it happening anyway but some folk need a reality check on the standard of your average Saints player.

The post denied him? Not having that, he put a ball over an open goal from 6 yards.

Hopefully that ends the Kane/Hendry debate.
 
Kane would have hit the crematorium.

Fairly open and entertaining game in terms of action and incidents.
First half Aberdeen dominated possession but didn't create anything, whilst Saints looked dangerous on the break.
Second half, losing Liam Craig's calming influence in the centre of the park brought Aberdeen right on top of us. Mackay-Steven came alive and got room to run at Tanser and gave him a tough time. First half Tanser was our best player, winning loads of headers and looking very assured in possession.  Callachan has obviously not played a lot this season, and it certainly showed.  Very difficult match to come into at half time though.
Aberdeen fans shouting for a penalty every single time simply because we had one defender in front and one behind McKenna at corners and long throws in the first half was some of the most clueless football spectating you would ever hope to come across.
Draw probably fair enough in the end.
I'm still not convinced by Shaughnessy.  He's too soft;  I would rather have had Anderson in there today. Jason Kerr is a great defender but he is going to have to watch as the number of times he wins the ball then tries to be too clever and gives it away cheaply could well cost us.  The whole team were a bit careless with the ball at times to be honest.
Aberdeen are a big physical side. Other than GMS they're like a more talented version of Hamilton Accies.
