  1. Wish I could get up there for this, alas I cannie.

On behalf of all non Perth saintees can I request that you lads get as many photos for us as possible. It would be greatly appriciated.

Amen to that, plus video clips of people making drunken asses of themselves, please

As for the glory hunters, we're having the same debate at York, with 15,000 of our regular crowd of 2,500 looking set to make the trip to Wembley on Saturday

As far as I'm concerned, they're all welcome. I'd love to see both my clubs achieving regular success and tempting the once-a-decade people to come along more frequently, and help fund further success.

  2. Slightly off-topic, but a couple of years ago I did some renovation work in the dressing rooms at Bootham Crescent. The preferred place for players to leave their mark would appear to be the underside of the benches; we found ancient graffiti and unflattering cartoons of various players' mothers (don't ask ).

We added some material of our own, and intend returning to buy, beg, or steal the benches as souvenirs when (if) the ground is demolished when we move to our new home.

  3. The crucial difference between the Ebbsfleet fiasco and this, is that this is proper suppporters trying to save their club, whilst Ebbsfleet only emerged as the club to be bought late in the day; people were recruited on the basis of buying a club, almost any club.

Good luck Stirling, I hope this is a resounding success for you.

  4. The feckers have axed hundreds of jobs in York, too. Makes me relieved they didn't think I was good enough to work for them a few years ago!

The celeb that brasses me off most is also Mr Richard "dont bother sending me any fan mail because I wont answer it" Starkey. Prat.

  5. Been to only two international games (England v Holland, Scotland v N Ireland, both early 1980s) and was bored witless on each occasion.

Never been able to kindle much interest since, though I do tend to back whoever England are playing to wind people up and create some entertainment for myself

  6. I'd love to play York in a pre season friendly. Looks a cracking wee stadium.

    I'd love that too!

Wee, certainly (capacity is about 9500), but I don't know about cracking :? It's a bit run-down and out-dated in many ways, and the mortgage and cost of upkeep mean the club is spending a couple of hundred thousand a year on it before they can even think about a playing budget.

Moves are afoot to build a new stadium, but progress is painfully slow.

  7. Hopefully, it'll just be a consilation goal - 'mon the boro!

What sort of crowd do you think you'll take down? I was there for Stevenage vs. Kidderminster two years ago and we must have had about 30,000 there. I wouldn't expect as big a crowd this time as the novelty factor will be gone but I would still expect at least 20,000.

    Jog on

Are you a enough of a Stevenage fan to be making the trip to Bootham Crescent for the dress rehearsal on March 31st

  8. Well done the Minstermen

Good goal he took it well.

How is Sodje playing, haven't seen his name much recently

Sodje hasn't been getting much of a look in lately; went off the boil a bit. He scored in last week's 1-1 draw at the mighty Forest Green, but that was his first since (I think) December. In the meantime, he's slipped behind Brodie, McBreen, and Boyes (cue the sexually ambiguous chants of "We all love Boyes" from the City faithful ) in the pecking order.

As for how many we'll take to Wembley, it's very difficult to predict but I'd hazard a guess at 10,000+. Plenty of part-timers came out of the woodwork on Saturday; saw people I've not seen since we dropped out of the League.

  9. Excitement was high at Grovesred Towers on Friday night as I checked the numbers for the Euromillions syndicate at work.

One of our lines proved to be a winner, but it won't change a thing. I'll go into work on Monday morning as if nothing has happened.

Not sure when I'll be able to pick up my 53p though.
