  1. Can anyone think of a manager who would want to join Saints at the current time who we could confidently say would make a better job than Coyle. I can remember us sacking Rennie, Totten & Stark all of whom probably deserved to go but the big problem was that they were replaced by Gibson, McClelland & Connolly who all proved to useless. I personally cannt think of a credible candidate who would do a better job than Coyle.

    Odd One Out

David Bingham (Saints in 89/90, Gr£tna in 06/07) Derek McInnes (Morton 89/90, Saints 06/07) Does that make 5 ?

    Odd One Out

Right reason, wrong player. Don McVicar never played against Saints at Muirton. Roddy played for Cowdenbeath at Muirton and for Partick at McD. Sorbie came on as a sub for Saints in the 1st match at McD and played for Alloa at both grounds. MacDonald played for Forfar & Airdrie at Muirton and for Raith at McD. The only 3 other players who I believe might have played both for and against Saints at both grounds are Paul Cherry, Ian Heddle and Steve Maskrey.

I'm off to my scratcher now with the mystery of Group 3 still to be solved.

The link is connected to playing for and against Saints but not in the same season.

    Odd One Out

Nobody is even close to getting the right answer for Group 3. All I can say is that 3 of the group are members of a very select club of ex-Saints of which there are no more than 3 other members.

    Odd One Out

Wrong! - anyway who or what would you swap for Kenny MacDonald ?

    Odd One Out

    Odd One Out

Who can identify the odd one out, and the reason why, from the following 3 groups of Saints players. Group 1 Vinny Arkins Danny Griffin Sammy Johnston George O'Boyle The answer is not "Johnston - because all of the rest are Irish" Group 2 John Lambie Grant Jenkins Gary Maher Ian Redford The answer is not "Lambie - because all of the rest were from Perthshire" Group 3 Roddy Grant Kenny MacDonald Don McVicar Stuart Sorbie The answer is not "Sorbie - because all of the rest signed for Saints twice" Good luck !!

IIRC the golfer/defender did indeed wear the Number 4 jersey.
