  1. 1. I'll take you to a gig to see a band currently on the go, who you've not yet seen... heard a band the other night on Steve lamacq on 6 Music called "Dirty Little Faces" - reckon they would be great based on the song he played called "Piccadilly" 2. I'll take you to a gig to see a band who were about in your life-time, but you regret not seeing as they are no longer on the go... The Stone Roses...they hardly played any gogs but they did play 2 small gigs in Scotland- 1 was the Venue in Edinburgh and I got a chance to go but had arranged to go to Glasgow the next night(ticketless) and it fell through 3. I'll take back in time to see a gig of a band that were over before your time... The Small Faces...must have been a real blast to see them...I know someone who saw them play the City Hall in the 60's
  2. E's a geezer innee Anyone else watch this ? i'm lovin' it (and lovin' Catalina ) "When you do good things, good things will happen to you, do bad things and they'll come back and bite you in the ass. After winning the lotto only to lose his ticket after getting run over, petty crook Earl Hickey decides he's got bad karma. Determined to turn his life around by righting the wrongs from his past Earl learns a lot about himself, like a person needs a little rest after having his moustache tickled at a gay bar..."
  3. listened to it last night. Theres a few good songs on it and a couple of the slower ones are surprisingly good- When The Sun Goes Down is fave at the moment but there are a couple that are a bit rocky/noisy that spoil it a bit but still its a no bad listen - and agree that Mandy bum is good too
  4. Just a heads up for those that don't know about this. 1966-1986 World Cup compilation Watched about half of it so far and its well worth the buying (even just for Brazil 1970 - the greatest national team ever) Not too much celebration of 1966 either. Absolute quality moment is Holland-Germany 1974 where Holland get a penalty before Germany have even touched the ball and they show the "Dutch Footballers wives" when the penalty is to be taken - its what Football is all about when you see that bit. Also from 1970 when Pele dummies the goalie..but unfortunately misses - fantasy football! A must buy for 75p NB Just realised I should have put this in "Football Chat" section
  5. Feeling the same myself . I reckon a wee bit of the door has opened again after feeling like it was shut at new year. If we can get the lead down to single figures there's still plenty games left to turn it round. The 2 signings we make this week(???) could be very important for the final push. Got to be positive about the next 2 games and see what happens. Mon the Saints - Get Right Intae them
  6. 2 good goals from what i saw on Scotsport. the big talking point though is....Which Saints Fan threw the toilet roll after the 2nd goal (or was it an adding machine roll)???......Quality

  8. Soul singer Wilson Pickett has died aged 64. The star, known for hits including 'Mustang Sally' and 'In The Midnight Hour', suffered a heart attack yesterday (January 19) in Virginia. Famed for his screams, Pickett was born in Prattville, Alabama, in 1941 and first achieved fame with his 1965 breakthrough hit 'In The Midnight Hour' - a classic he co-wrote and which was later covered by artists as varied as The Jam and BB King. He then enjoyed a series of hits in 1960s while signed to the legendary Stax label, often recording with house band Booker T And The MGs. In the 1970s a label switch led to a downturn in Pickett's fortunes, a period he once described as a "career breakdown", and during the 1990s he was arrested for cocaine possession and drunk driving. However Pickett revived his fortunes somewhat following the release of film 'The Commitments' in 1991, in which the star was idolised by a fictional Dublin soul band. That same year the singer was inducted into the Rock 'N' Roll Hall Of Fame and in his last album, 'It's Harder Now', was nominated for a Grammy in 1999. Pickett is survived by a fiance 2 sons and 2 daughters. RIP "Wicked Pickett"
