I wouldn't mind going to the Hibs-Killie match on Saturday. It's going to be brutal.

8.30 anyway, not to tempt fate or anything, but we seem to be doing quite well here...

8.31 Missed penalty by May. Hope it doesn't affect his confidence.

What exactly would you like them to report on? We've reached the stage where probably about 90%+  of tickets have already been sold. Simply reporting each day that another 20 or 40 or 60 have been sold starts to look stupid. The club did a brilliant job in the first few days stoking the excitement with their regular updates. We don't need any more because we've pretty much reached the target.

Living outside of Perth my only real contact I have with the club is the ticket office. They have been outstanding every time I have had to contact them. A real credit to the club.

There has been info up on Facebook and to a certain extent the club website. The staff have a priority just now which is selling tickets and taking details for the extra tickets which are on the way to the club.
Plus there are several posters on here who are pretty good at updating us with any news updates.
It is frustrating if you are waiting to buy tickets for various reasons including waiting for pay day etc but there will be tickets available and if there isn't well that is great news as it means there will be a full house of Saints fans on the day ! That surely is what we have been asking for & want?

I would just like to thank the staff at the club for still being cheery & able to have a bit of a chat when I got my tickets yesterday when they clearly had a long day with people, phone calls etc. So big thank you to all the staff involved, big thanks to all of you Saints fans who have bought tickets and to those who haven't get yourself sorted & be part of a bit of history. Keep on persuading others to be there on 17th May

Really hope Dundee go up. I'd much rather derby matches against them than playing Hamilton Accies, Jason or no Jason.

partner's in a huff with me.

I left her to phone for tickets while I was at work. She's been on constant redial all day and couldn't get through. I came home, tried, got connected at the second attempt...

Two tickets winging their way down to Yorkshire...

I wouldn't miss the final regardless of prices. I know it's not quite the same but have a quick look down south and you'll see the SEMI final prices ranged from £30 to £60 whilst last year's FA cup final started from £45 and went up to £115 (with £10 discount for concessions) so if we can get a family of four in for £76 then I don't really think it's that bad. Following your team is expensive, especially if you get to showpiece events like the cup final, so it's just part and parcel IMHO.

hoodlum (and blueheaven, who made the same point earlier), I'm coming to the same view. I'm also working my way through relevant threads on here and copying them into Word to filter and edit. I've gone through 600 pages already and reckon when I've done everything there'll be in excess of 4000 pages to work through... That's not quite as bad as it sounds, but it's still a lot of editing.

Regarding anything from old posts, I'll be PMing people in due course to ask for permission. There's some great stuff. It's going to be good....

Reading the threads on here, it is obvious there is a truly enormous groundswell of affection for the club and there are many supporters whose dedication to the team is remarkable. It gives the lie to all those people who say Perth isn't a fitba town and St Johnstone have a low fan base. We've got people coming home from around the world for the match. There is some truly moving discussion of family and friends who dreamed of such a day and didn't live long enough to see it. They will see the final through our eyes, all of them.

I've wondered about pulling together a book of various reminiscences and thoughts from members of the forum (and wider), to come out soon after the final. This would be published on-demand through Lulu Press. I've used them a few times for University research because it works out cheaper than photocopying. A couple of hundred pages A4, black and white, properly paperback bound with colour covers, would retail probably around £6 or so. That's the cost price. If we added a couple of quid to the price, profits could then go to the club. I'd obviously open up the accounts to verify that. The club could even have access to the Lulu account if they wanted.

Would people be interested in that?

    1. Would you contribute your recollections to me via PM so I can collate into a book.
    2. Would you buy such a book?

The good thing about on-demand publishing is that you don't need upfront cash. People order online and a book is printed for them and sent about a week later.

Any thoughts? Is it worth pursuing?

He was a good player. 65 is young to succumb to dementia.
