    Hi everyone,
As previewed briefly last week, we've been working hard behind the scenes and are now ready to launch the WeArePerth Video Archive - www.weareperth.co.uk is the link!
    So far we have:
    - Highlights of (almost!) every game in the 17/18, 18/19 and 19/20 seasons.
    - Highlights and additional video content for every European game since 2012 - as well as highlights of the Saints v Monaco UEFA Cup games in 1999.
    - Highlights of every game in our 2014 Scottish Cup run as well as additional video content.
    - Classic matches from the McDiarmid Park and Muirton Park eras
    - Goal compilations, documentaries, interviews and other special features.
All the highlights are archived with team lines and goalscorers and are fully searchable by year, competition, team or even by player. Comments are open and welcome on every game!
There will be more content added as we go - with the intention being that we'll get back as far as we possibly can with season by season highlight videos that are in the public domain. I think there is almost a complete collection on YouTube back as far as maybe 2012/13 and fragmented stuff from before that.
We may also, down the line, start adding the odd article here and there if the feeling takes us. This is also possibly dependent on how long we are all locked in our houses for!
We're also looking for a bit of help. If you have video footage - even if it's on an old forgotten VHS - of a classic game from years ago, let us know. If you can point us in the direction of a video stashed away online in a hidden corner of the internet (Saints related obviously!), pass us the link. We'd be particularly keen to find any footage at all of the VPS Vaasa games in 1999, the 7-2 game against Dundee (There is a video of one of the goals on YouTube - surely somewhere the whole game exists!) or anything else along those lines.
Finally, please give our Twitter and Facebook channels a like - https://twitter.com/wap1884 and https://www.facebook.com/WeArePerth/ - where we'll be posting links to new content when it is added and posting any other Saints related musings that come to mind.
Thanks, as always, for your support!
    Jamie

I thought Sixties was claiming Taylor was the keeper who scored for Saints round about season 59/60.  (Post 9 hours ago)
If I've got the wrong end of the stick it certainly won't be the first time but my nurse thought that was the point of the discussion as well so at least i will not be sent to bed without my usual dram|

Well done Sixties, you had me stumped.-Season 1960/61- (Old) Div 1.
On 17/12/60 away to Third Lanark in front of 10,000 crowd Saints lost 4-2.
Taylor, McFadyen ,Lachlan, Walker, Little , Docherty, Newlands, Innes, Gardiner, Thomson and  Mc Vittie .
Saints scorers were Thomson and wait for it......
Own goal scored by Third Lanark.

There was a building opposite the bottom of Needles Road but was little more than a large wooden shed the only substantial stone building in that area was the one in the photo in the old goods yard above, it was used by Pickfords latterly.

New investment put "on hold".  That is likely to be a euphemism for cancelled especially as most of this new money was supposed to be coming from the Far East!  Bit like the letters we all get from energy suppliers and insurers which cheerfully tell us charges have been revised, ie increased.

You could be right I seem to remember a building either in Glover Street or maybe Gray Street which fits - Glasgow Road end.  The railway carriage should be to the left though.  Good fun even if the building turns out to be in Fraserburgh.

My feelings are that finishing this season must be the Football authorities main priority. Whether this is August/Sept/Oct or whenever they just have to find a way to do it. After this has happened and you have Champions/Promotion/Relegation all sorted out then try and find a workable solution for next season . 2020/21 will not be a normal season but with a bit of invention /compromise a solution could be found.

Would not try to compete with you in the memory stakes Hoodlum, you are damn good.  A few other names spring to mind, Mc Fadyen, Walker, Hodgson, Lachlan but maybe a wee bit later. Neither Ewan (Ernie?) or Archie Baird took prisoners that was for sure.  I remember a game when ian Rodger was sent off for going in hard on the keeper.  Least he thought he was sent off, the opposition defenders were trying to give him a doing and the ref. broke things up and told Rodger to get up the park.  Rodger thought he said off and left and the ref. did not notice.
    Happy days - keep safe.

    Strikers of my time.
I have been  blessed with seeing some good strikers in my time of following Saints.
(Maybe should be in Saints thread)
My earliest recollection of seeing Paddy Buckley must have been at the end of his Saints career .
Before my time , Saints were vying with Celtic to sign him from Boness United . 23 year old Buckley opted for Saints , tho' Celtic claimed to have signed him.
Aggrieved,  Celtic took their claim to the Football governing body , who ruled in Saints favour .
In August 1948 He made his scoring debut for Saints in a 3-0 win against Dundee United at Muirton park in front a 6000 crowd. (In the old B division)
He remains 4th in the all-time Saints list of goalscorers , netting 105 goals over 4 seasons and was the clubs leading scorer in each season.
In 1952 he was transferred to Aberdeen for £7,500 (don't know what that would relate to today), and helped the Dons to their first ever Scottish league championship in 1955.

Bit like the old joke about the Murray Royal patient who asks to see a visiting professor to try and prove he is completely sane and has been kept in the Murray for 20 years unnecessarily.  The prof conducts an hour of rigorous tests and becomes convinced the guy is right.  He promises to raise the case with the authorities and walks away only to be hit a stunning blow to the head by a brick.  With blood everywhere he turns to see the guy standing there with a smile saying "you'll not forget now"?
