Sensible to get someone in with experience, especially if Gordon's out. Having to rely on young lads for two of the back three full time would be too much probably. Also means we don't have to rush Gordon back.

Removing emotion, whatever way you look at it, there's something still untold here. I'm not convinced by SB's PR release. On the surface it appeased, it was a smooth brush stroke. But, dig a little deeper and doubts surface.
It's actually contradictory.
Well, it happened. It's easy to say to saints fans "move on" (and clearly SB wants to), but this will rumble in the background for a long time. 
I will certainly move on by supporting the team. Always will. But there is certainly something uncomfortable in the explanation.
 

Its a dangerous example to set IMO it gives all the power to the player.Surely Ali should have been told we want 3million for you and until we get that you are not going anywhere. Now the players at Saints know they have the upper hand over the club and the buying clubs know that Saints are a soft touch.Its not a great way to go about business and i fear they're will be a few more leaving for pennies in Jan.

I’ll support the new signings 100% but on paper they look like desperation signings. One can’t get a game for St Mirren ffs.

I’m not blaming McCann. I’m questioning the clubs decision to sell him in the manner they did. He was always going to be sold at some stage. Sell him on the clubs terms, not minutes before the deadline.

I’ve spent my whole day at work fielding questions from colleagues in disbelief. They just can’t fathom how McCann went to anyone for that sort of fee.

Here's my thought on this.
Ali McCann away to Preston in the english "2nd division". No chance of winning anything but will be earning a lot more money than he did at saints.
Jason Kerr away to Wigan in the english "3rd division". No chance of winning anything but will be earning a lot more money than he did at saints.
We are left with this question. How can an English 3rd division team pay more money than a Scottish premier league team?

We knew players would be sold but it doesn’t matter what angle you come from, this is bad business. Journalists, players, chairmen, supporters will all wake up to that news an raise and eyebrow. It’s terrible! You just don’t sell your double winning captain who is on the verge of a Scotland cap and your most talented young regular full international player who is tied down to a contract for that sort of money. It’s appalling!!
