  1. Next Wednesday 1st May St Johnstone Women have their first match on the main pitch at McDiarmid, a 7.45 kick off against Queen's Park - who have just been crowned champions of that league. After the proposed match in November 2022 was cancelled four days prior, this will be the first time the side have played on the main pitch. Main stand only, with season ticket holders getting in free and a cash only gate otherwise of £5 adult and £1 concessions. It would mean a considerable amount to the players if they were to get a decent support in that night.

    Season tickets

They said because near enough everyone will have a paper ticket / season card / email with seat number it negated the need for them. Not sure what happens as regards the pay at the gate people. As far as season ticket benefits goes. A few seasons ago there was a discount scheme where there was money off various businesses in the town. I worked most Saturdays at that point, so never had a season to know the full details - dare say someone will know more than me. The person behind that left the club during the pandemic, and it has never been taken up again. I'm sure the discounts an enticement to get people to frequent businesses would be welcomed by both those spending and receiving the money!

  4. Not sure why they couldn't wear the teal and magenta strip, no issues with a clash when both teams womens sides met recently.
  5. Incredible to think that it's 20 years now since the match in Monaco. What a trip away it was.
  6. Since he isn't black, which the guest of the club is, it won't be him.
  7. And online from Campus Sports new site https://www.campussports.co.uk/ You'll also get 20% off shirt printing with them too
  8. Not quite the case. Macron change their logo every couple years, for reasons known only to them. The one on the kits we have only came out in 2016/17 time. The new logos are phased into stock over time. For this year, in terms of strips they only have three which are new for 2019. I personally thought we would have gone for the Canopus, one of the new kits. Anyway, the strips Saints have chosen are both current until end of 2021, so not exactly surplus.
  9. There were long sleeve ones for players, but I don't believe any went on public sale.
  10. Just away to post, bit of story of the season, United took their two chances and the defending on them could have been better. Saints created more but failed to make the most of it.
  11. Tayside Derby this afternoon...
  12. Yeah it is, she is a talented and clever player, so she should do fairly well with us. One of the other goals from Sunday here, with some neat build up play
  13. She will be signed/registered to Saints but with the intention of to going back to Hibs, hence loan wording. I believe the registration system is different in that respect.
  14. All about technicalities and wording in this case. Ashley's goal is to get back into the Hibs side, so, she was 'released' by them which meant she could play for as a trialist, for up to three games, to see if she wanted to sign, which she, as you're aware, has done. Here is her free kick from Sunday
  15. As Mainstand said, 14-0 today against a Hutchie Vale side who only had 11 players with them.
  16. Details for tomorrow's match
  17. Womens team, as has been said already, very much on the go. The womens team have their own end of season awards - so there will be nothing at the end of season one at Dewars. As well as the Twitter page shared, there is a Facebook page too https://www.facebook.com/StJohnstoneWFC/ The team have two home matches coming up on the next two Sundays, firstly Hutchison Vale this Sunday and then Dundee United on the 28th. Matches have a 4pm kick off, are played on the astro, £3 entry, programmes £2, and there are refreshments on sale too. Goals from Sunday
  18. The last filing on there for BLK Sport Holding is the 18th December of the notice to dissolve the company. BLK Sport UK (in liquidation) filed a confirmation back in 2017. Looks like everything has been moved from the current BLK Sport Holding to the sister company, RU Active.
  19. I couldn't tell you. However, on the basis of filings with Companies House, this has been on the cards for some time. BLK Sport Holdings were to officially be dissolved today, after serving two months notice to do so.
  20. Goodfellow & Stephen on the High Street to close in March, staff moving to Scott St.
  21. A disappointing 2-0 loss. Glasgow had two real chances and took them. Saints, despite creating a lot and testing their keeper, left with nothing to show for it.
  22. Yeah, the original womens team that competed as Jeanfield became St Johnstone WFC after playing for a couple of seasons on the McDiarmid astro. Last year with a number of girls over 17, but no Under 19s league, and not likely to get a place with the Saints team, Jeanfield decided to form a womens team that would play in the Scottish Womens Football Division 2. The team features a mix of youth players as well as those as who have played football before but taken a break and want back into the game, or step back from SWPL level. The pathway with the youth set up at Jeanfield is for the younger girls to progress into the womens teams. Of the 20 strong Saints squad at present, 8 of them are players who have been with the club since at least Under 17 level, one of them has been with the club since Under 11.
  23. RU Active/Sport have lost the rights to distribute the BLK brand in the UK.
  24. The season started last week with a 1-1 draw against a stuffy Dundee United side. First home match of the season tomorrow though...
