Bit of a catch 22 with Stevenson... he does give his all which is a very endearing quality in a player... but, in my opinion, he just isn't good enough a player to have in the team if we want to be seriously challenging at the right end of the table. I'd be tempted to let him go now... he's been here for a good while (4 and a half years by the time his contract expires I think?) and you could probably count his good games on both hands without having to resort to using your toes. Shame because as I've already said he is an endearing player... but no room for sentiment... He could well find himself released at the end of the season... If not, then a 1 year deal max... Realistically, he is not good enough for the SPL either.

Too many if's and buts for my liking. I don't think we will do it... but I'm all for being proved wrong! In truth, I'm not sure if we'd survive just now if we went up... We need another season of building IMO... but hey, going up a year prematurely is better than not going up at all. COME ON YOU SAINTS!

What does it matter if he's gay or not? Really don't understand why this should matter - especially in modern day society. Half my male friends are gay (not me a hasten to add!) and the banter with them is absolutely brilliant.

Agree with Kojak. Sheerin's one of my favourite players so I'm very biased but I feel he's more than earned a new contract. I think I can see where you're coming from here though Sam... as a left winger he is fairly unorthodox/uncomfortable looking... but I certainly feel he deserves another year if he wants it

Fecking algebra :x Apart from the algebra, I agree with Kev... As the spl clubs get more players they'll cast off one or two. We just have to hold tight over the next few days and see what comes of it... I'd expect at least 3 more players

Right guys and gals, must be getting near that time of year again. Who do you think deserves a new contract? Right at this moment in time, I'm fairly happy with a fair majority of our team... just one or two tweaks I feel needed here and there. As it stands I'd give new contracts to; Cuthbert Rutkiewicz Stanic Sheridan Sheerin Stevenson. all six I feel very much deserve it for both consistency and commitment. Still on the fence about the likes of Anderson... who I feel is good cover... but not good enough to be a regular starter. Would definitely punt (based on form/lack of appearances) Fotheringham Campbell McCann (although, don't think he's actually too bad) Hannah (obvious one that) Henry So six to keep, 1 not sure about and 5 to punt... Can't think of anyone else who's contract will be up just now. Thoughts people?

I would guess so Nick... If not Glennon, then he's got another goalie lined up I'd say. Bound to be a boost for Cuthbert too... If we don't get a goalie for saturday, it means we're relying on cuthbert, which surely shows Owen has great confidence in his ability

Class goals from saints on saturday. That flick from Coyle was top class. Sheerin looked like being involved in a lot of good that happened in saturday. The team seems to be putting in a lot more in terms of energy since the gretna game

Na think its a sensible measure to take by a 2nd division club. St Johnstone have shut down both the ormond and the away stand in recent times and our financial position is very very good. Good move from thistle IMO... will save them money in the long run
