Sorry but this is all crap!
    1) May was always going, his contract was ending that season, his agent instructed him not to sign a new one, so we cashed in.
    2) We have been in the Premier League for the longest stretch of time I can remember (been supporting saints since 1995 when we were in the 1st division), we won 2 cups last season and have hit the top 6/Euro qualification several times in the last 10 years. We are the "Yo-yo" club that doesn't seem to yo-yo that much any more, save for in and out of the top 6.
    3) Roddy is a director. Previously he was an associate director and before that a Lotto administrator. He's Saints through and through and a good ambassador for the club and is well respected in the game.
    4) Sensible thing to do and has been done at many clubs over the years, including Saints. Back in the day Stewart Duff did a lot of the day-to-day running for Geoff.
    5) Drey Wright couldn't agree a deal, we had no manager at the time but overall wasn't a huge loss even tho he was a decent player.
    6) Stevie May's contract was held up by Rowan Vine being a t***. May punted Vine anyway and Saints got their man. This also kinda cancels out point one as we got the cash then got the player back.
    7) Wallace Duffy has played about 15 times since joining Inverness. He has been no real loss.
    8) I have never seen any solid evidence to show that Wright was sacked (see my last post from the Record article). "Off the record" claims can be little more than Chinese whispers.
    9) Thanks to Brexit, work permits are a massive bugger for all professions.
    10) "£1-£1.2mill with add-ons. Adds-ons take figure to £2m before sell on fees." Which is more than £1.75 million! Ali made it clear he wanted to leave.
    11) Yes, loans are not ideal, but we have cover. We got a new midfielder because we just sold one plus Craig and Davidson have a combined age of 67. Striker is now here and training and we still have other defenders that are experienced. We can also still sign free agents outwith the window
    12) Yes, and so will every other club. I'd hazard a guess here tho that now we have money from the sales of Kerr and McCann and the dust has settled on Europe and we can get fans back in bringing in much needed ££, Brown and Callum can start looking at budgets to get players on new deals.
Steve Brown ain't no saint (pun fully intended!) and yes, not everything is perfect. I do think McCann could have gone for more. But we always balance the books, we still don't know what fun and game swill be thrown up by Covid, having has 1.5 years now without fans and I'd far rather have him and Roddy than Charles Green, Craig White, the Kelly Family, The Marrs, Di Stefano, Romanov or any of the other idiots that have ruined clubs in Scotland over the years.

Interesting that Jason Kerr put out a statement after his transfer yet young Mr McCann has not.
Perhaps those apportioning blame for the deal should not only look at the Chairman's side of the table but at those across from him who benefited from the move.

Does Steve Brown still (as always) have an eye on his own means of escape from his position, and money in the bank will surely make St Johnstone a more desirable enterprise for anyone looking to take it on?  Assets who could get injured next week always seem to be second favourite to cash in the tin.
I dunno, it's easy to complain and whine, but the club has continued to be in a financially secure position despite the ever increasing gulf in money in professional football between the 'big clubs' and the also rans, and a worldwide pandemic that removed almost all income for the club, both on and off the park.  Even if he is looking after number 1, the outcome is still that we'll never be a Dundee/Rangers/Gretna etc. etc.
Looking forward to some more fixtures so we can get behind the team again.

Haven't been on here for a week or so. Was as angry as anyone about what went down on deadline night, but now that the dust has settled I feel Saints, on balance, made the best of a difficult situation. Part of me still feels we should have pressed PNE for a higher fee, but obviously there are lots of factors to take into consideration when doing that. I suppose that's why these clubs do their business so late, to cut down the window for negotiation and press the selling club into a quick decision - but Saints obviously still held a lot of the cards.
I'm sure everyone at the club will know that the number of loan players isn't ideal, but we were in an unusual predicament of having to bring in players so late in the day. On paper at least, I'd say that all three new loanees look like they could be positive signings for us. In terms of sheer quantity our squad also looks a lot healthier now and I actually feel we're a bit overloaded in some areas. There are a couple of players who I reckon will now struggle to get much game time, but we certainly have competition for places.

This is going to sound like I am sticking up for Steve...but some of that doesn't look right.
May left for £800k because his agent made clear he wouldn't sign the deal on the table at the time. Robertson was brought in as Brown felt he didn't have the time to run the club and the family business. The 'discussions' for May's return were handled by Vine as his agent....that should be enough to explain that situation! Not sure Wallace should have been kept on...first time I've heard that explaination of his leaving (not saying its not true!). Wright wasn't sacked. We were always going to have players leave for nothing at the end of the season whether we kept McCann and Kerr.

It's the UK with the complicated relationship . Finland has been in the EU since 1995 and uses the Euro. Norway is the one that's not in the EU but in the EFTA, EEA and respects freedom of movement from EU Countries under Schengen.

Good lord. That's pretty much as good as realistically hoped for. McCann back to his usual self, Muzz being the destroyer in midfield. Rooney has in fairness had questions about his defensive side, and he couldn't get into his strength, attacking. But Babel & v.Arnhalt getting subbed showed he put in a good shift against quality. Special mention to Devine- only his second pro appearance at top level. Whatever happens in 2nd leg, this result gives us massive confidence, whether we play Randers or (likely LASK).

    I cant believe that result.
Was honestly expecting us to get smashed, and that wasn't because i believe we are a poor side, just that the incredible gulf in supposed talent was SO big, it was a foregone conclusion.
I was there in Norway, and thought that had to be the pinnacle of european results in my lifetime.
    But that has eclipsed it.
Going to istanbul (and barring the 1st 15 mins) competing toe to toe with a supposed euro giant?
And bringing the tie back to perth very much alive!
Achievement of the century so far.
