Pleased to see the club doing something to mark this occasion. As it's going to be on a Saturday in November, if we have a home game on that day I'd really like to see the 2014 team brought out onto the pitch too.

To this day it pisses me off that the city of Perth itself did nothing to commemorate the day. No plaque, no statue, no piece of art, nothing renamed. Just absolutely nothing.

You forget about the mysterious Freedom of Perth.... Pathetic.

Perth Porn Saints?  Well, there'd certainly be more "faked" than those other fake Saints in the west.  May learn how to go down to con the referee.  The shirts and shorts could be interesting.  Stockings?

I'd rather settle for a conscientious owner like Geoff.  One who puts the club first.  More modern outlook on communications, investments into the ground.  I hope this is positive and done quickly so we can move on from what seems limping along.

GB has done his time... Rescued us. No one knows what the horizon is... But I want pom-pom girls.... Hopefully not on day release from prison...

Knowing some of those who sit in the West stand, I'm not so sure! Mind you, they could relay it to the twits who sit in their VAR booths and it would stop them watching the game!

So we want American porn stars,as opposed to pom-pom girls??? Would certainly increase attendance... 😃

I must get myself down to Specsavers.  At first I read the last paragraph as porn-porn ladies!

I'm not sure if it's still there, but there was an advertising board on the West Stand, near the dugout, which read " Saints 3, Real Madrid 2... Get your eyes tested at Specsavers" .

As for porn-porn women, PRI couldn't cope with the heart attacks in the West stand... 😀

  5. I will say this, Americans know how to market their investments. But it will take time. I just hope they treat Saints with respect, as GB effectively put his heart and soul into the club and saved us from oblivion.

I think appointing CL was good. He is experienced enough to deal with potential American owners. No offence to Macca, but he'd be lost. As for the land? I don't mind an acre or 2 being given up, whether it be a hotel, supermarket or whatever. But it would require major infrastructure works for access etc.

I look forward to seeing the investment... Facilities, marketing etc. and pom-pom ladies pre match and half time. Bit of entertainment to wake up the West stand.....

  6. Well in fairness, (and it is unsettling), there's a lot of very rich Americans that like to have something "different" . Bit of a boast and ego. They can't buy into NFL, baseball, basketball etc. so we're cheap. And there's the Wrexham factor. And even the Ted Lasso series. For some reason it's a sign of wealth to own a club on the other side of the pond. So in Geoff's parting gift... I hope he's right. God bless America

  7. Well my fiancé is American and is excited... If it goes ahead, it would be great to have some pre-season games over there... Instead of Ireland. Or Dingwall. I presume this negotiation involves an American consortium? Be interesting who else is involved in this apart from the legal dude..

Aberdeen, Dundee and Utd now American owned....Saints as well?
Loss making money pits, attracting US owners?  Wtf is going on here?????

Probably land and a few other benefits.... Then bugger off within 3 years...

  9. One thing for sure is it won't be a Russian oligarch. Due diligence takes months, and a strategy going forward longer. I'd be surprised if any change takes place before season's end. American investors seem most likely, football is on the rise in the US, billionaires are bored of cosy basketball and baseball franchises. We're exotic (!!!) Love to see whomever attend a cup game at Stenny

  10. I have to admit I was not a McClelland fan from his days at the death star.

But I very much respect him now... He's very unassuming, weird hair, has done well with the youths and we're lucky to have him. I remember the interview with him after Tommy left. He was asked if he'd go for the job... He said no, as he was happy with the kids. And after winning the second Scottish Cup, he was the one at the back filming CW's seal performance. Never wants attention. I know his heart may be in Hunbrox, but he is part of Saint's family. I think he's been with us for a decade, happy out of the limelight.

  11. Elon Musk is reported to be interested... McD will be transformed into his new Space X launchpad. Only at halftime. After his sports car in orbit for imperpuity, it makes absolute sense to fire a few John Deere tractors into orbit. Maybe Mars...

Don't know, never even considered a cash sum to be a realistic proposition when buying a Scottish football club.  Certainly not in the case of either of the Dundee clubs.  More like new owners agree to honour debts, agree not to asset strip (as far as is possible legally) and see if they can make a fist of running a venerable institution that might occasionally turn a small profit or give the owners a profile in U.K. professional sports circles.

I have been somewhat suspicious of 2xUS owners turning up in Dundee at the same time and kite flying for a new stadium???? The old adage remains a truism, if you really want to make a small fortune from a Scottish football club....start with a large fortune!

In the recent past Marrs, Romanovs not exactly above board, Thomsons, Browns, Milne, McGregor all put in more than they took out!

Well the Oligarchs effectively have most funds suspended. That leaves the door open for a fish & chip owner from Montrose....

  13. It's a difficult one for the board and Macca. Given the club is up for sale, I'd imagine that the imaginary new owners would want to take a very objective view and go through their own process. It may be that Macca stays on as interim manager until the imaginary new owners appear. Macca would naturally want a bit more job security.

I'm more concerned about some of the crap we have in the squad on decent contracts...

Shades of sandy clark inherited a good sturrock squad, then got found out. Problem we have just now we need players in striker, defensive midfielder and a keeper, but do we really want to give Davidson the opportunity to make these signings, based on his previous good money going to bad in majority of cases, and he will just go to Biscuits Preston who is one of the biggest pricks going around Scottish football and is taking our club for a ride.

Please never mention Sandy Clark. Some dark days. I have PTSD.
