  1. What a result! I'm overseas so a bit down that I couldn't be there but having a final to look forward to more than makes up for it. And what great revenge after the league cup.
  2. Rivaldo overhead kick v Valencia. Roberto Baggio v Czechoslovakia Antonin Panenka pen v West Germany
  3. I thought Tommy spoke really well after that p*sh, refusing to make too much of the goal at the end. And I agree with him, we didn't deserve anything from that. Really disappointing performance. The midfield is letting us down. And it's hardly news but McDonald offers absolutely nothing in midfield, or indeed anywhere on the park.
  4. United looked really good but Collum was dreadful. The pen was soft, Tansey was never a red, shocking decision and Watkins' was harsh too. Refs are far to quick to go for the cards these days, as shown yesterday with Easton and McDonald's bookings. Michael Stewart was correct, Collum is such an officious ref and he spoiled the game.
  5. Easton for me by a stretch. A really good acquisition for us in my opinion, such a good temperament and a very good decision maker. I've been really impressed and yesterday was no different. Disagree a bit about the centre of midfield, I didn't think we were good in the middle at all. I think we're lacking the players that can control the centre of the park and very definitely missing Murray Davidson to occupy the space between the halfway line and the strikers and get beyond from deep. There were a couple of telling moments when we put pressure on from wide and Raith defenders cleared the ball into the space at the edge of the 18-yard box, but there were no takers. I like the look of James Dunne as a 'pivote' style player, as in technically good, strong and able to sit deeper and provide cover defensively, but also bring into play the wider players. McDonald, however, offers nothing. I thought O'Halloran looked sharp when he came on, I wonder if he could provide that spark centrally too and dominate in the last 3rd?
  6. We could always just start Iwelumo every game. There would be no need to play the ball on the deck then...
  7. Germany away will be braw, and Poland likewise. Poland at Hampden should be a cracker too and a great atmosphere, although I'd imagine we'll have to suffer the disparaging remarks about how hard it will be to get a Polish plumber/joiner/shop assistant/electrician/etc etc on the day of the game by our idiotic media chums!
  8. Decent group. Another gimme for England I see
  9. Agree with this 100%. I'm sick of listening to idiot ex-pro's that can barely string a sentence together. The best football show IMO is the European one on BT on a Sunday night with James Richardson, and three actual journalists who can give actual genuine insight and tell you things you don't know, without the inherent bias you get from ex-pro's. Claridge is a buffoon by the way. I remember watching him on the Football League Show, and every sentence he used to deliver seemed to end with the words 'at this level'.
  10. Why is James Forrest in the squad?? He's done absolutely hee haw this season. Bannan is another who shouldn't be there because he is gash! May should be there, at least to get some experience around the squad. What's the point in our young players banging in goals in the SPFL and not getting the recognition?
  11. It's a diabolical decision, but let's not fail to mention Brazil 2014 which is equally ridiculous. The complete lack of regard for the safety of workers has cost countless lives there too, and all because of massive corruption and broken promises that have resulted in chronic delays to the building of stadia there. The costs involved in holding the tournament there is eye-watering and has left much of the population resentful as to why their taxes are being wasted on pish as opposed to building hospital, schools, roads and other actually useful things. Hopefully the tournament will be blighted by rioting and protesting to highlight the outrageous disparity between rich and poor in Brazil (and actually the world). But lets be in no doubt that most, sorry all, decisions in the world of football are purely for the financial benefit of the minority of FIFA/UEFA blazers, global corporations, over paid players and influential national associations, so all of you football fans that pay fortunes to follow your clubs and countries can go f**k yourselves.
  12. Wouldn't want him at Saints. Good player in his day, but far too much of a disruptive influence in the dressing room. I understand he was a pest in his first spell at Hibs, was part of the cabal of d**kheads in the Scotland dressing room when boozegate all kicked off, and hasn't covered himself in glory in his recent spell at Easter Road which is why Butcher has told him to eff-off. No thanks
  13. Decent draw in my opinion, would have liked the Sheep and the Arabs drawn together. There should be absolutely nothing to fear from Sevco though, although they're now guaranteed a home semi!
  14. Great response by the sounds of it. Albion Rovers in the quarters hopefully! Ideally I'd like Aberdeen v either Dundee Utd (if they win) or Sevco! Please let it be our year!
  15. Typical of the MSM doing their usual and totally disrespecting the rest of the Scottish game by airing this sh*te! Why is this even news? Why do we need a west coast angle on a Caley v ICT final? No wonder our game struggles
