  1. This Covid situation will have hit admin plans back at base too. I'm wondering if the club are doing a Virtual Cup inal Ticket as in the League cup?
  2. Notwithstanding the Covid issues hitting our plans we welcome Livingston ( no E ) to Perth on Saturday for what will be a decider for fifth place and a passport to European Football. Some of the lads isolating should be back and we'll have a better idea who has been affected on Saturday. Can't believe that after all we've been through that we can be hit so hard when we are on the precipice of greatness. A draw will do but lets get this done.
  3. Close but Melamed needs to start and Stevie if he's cleared.
  4. I respect your opinion but Family will be allowed to sit together and as far as applauding being banned you can forget that. Who's kidding on who here; If I'm luck enough to get a ticket you'll hear me in Perth cheering on the lads and nothing will stop that or any other fans that are present.
  5. This game is getting lost in the fog of battle; who'd have believed that a game against Celtic is an inconvenience? I think we could take something from this game. Rest Zander, perhaps Spoony. I'd give Middleton, MOH and May a start assuming Stevie is available. Pure conjecture ofcourse - who knows what CD will be thinking but anyone carrying a knock will need to be rested.
  6. Brilliant post Chips! I started reading some of the negativity around who would gets tickets and the moaning about who deserves and who doesn't and my heart sank. We are St.Johnstone. We all want to be there but that won't happen. I'll be chuffed for those of us who mange to get selected and like the rest of our great support I'll be cheering on the boys in front of the telly - hopefully in Perth if someone can find a suitable venue.
  7. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/57073714 This looks really promising to have a decent support.
  8. Well done bluehaven, you read my mind. What are the plans for watching this game in Perth? Can't see many pubs showing it inside under guidance etc. ( No volume on Televisions etc. and strict social distancing) . Are there any pubs likely to plan an outdoor event? Should the club be entertaining the idea of setting up a "fanzone" with screens? Remember a few weeks later Trafalgar Square is being set up for the England v Scotland game. I for one would be happy to come through to Perth to watch with my fellow Saintees.
  9. I'd have to agree to this; even if it was 1000 fellow fans. Being able to express your adulation to the team who mean so much to you is special. I've said this many times before especially at away games; when the team come towards you to share that bond at the end of the game, that emotion can't be beaten. Remember too we haven't been able to express our support and gratitude for this team in over a year. I for one will be very emotional when that day comes irrespective of the cup final result.
  10. I agree with you completely. If playing at Pittodrie with a full house was an option that would sway me but only a handful of fans from each side at that soulless place doesn't cut it for me. The SFA have been caught with their pants down again and there is absolutely no reason there can't be 500 fans from each side minimum at Hampden. It shows why the SFA have no respect from anyone in the game. I listened to Darryl Broadfoot too last night - (he's that obsequious mouth piece for them) and it was embarressing. Well done to the BBC for calling him out on it - UEFA did not ban fans from Hampden and did not put restrictions on the SFA - it was down to complete disinterest and incompetance. My guess is that approx 1000 fans from each team will be allowed in to Hampden but I expect this really gain traction from the media in the next couple of days.
  11. Well here it is; the Scottish Cup Final thread 2021! What an achievement for St.Johnstone to contest the second cup final of the season having won the league cup earlier. The rewards for winning this cup are eye watering - the stakes could never be higher. History is at our door. Over the next 10 days we'll know who's available to play, who everyone wants to start and why fans can't be present. There will be poignant memories to share and plans on how and where we're going to watch. Let's hear you Saints.
  12. I'm totally knackered after that! I was as nervous as a rapist that last five minutes. Congratulations to our brilliant team. I'm still having to pinch myself to believe this season. Well done to all you fellow Saintees too; we are together through thick and thin and it makes me a very proud man being being born and bread in Perth! Even better when your office is full of Dees and Terrors! My MOTM was Booth by the way - what a performance. Spoony - you get keys to City of Perth!
  13. Weather seems perfect for tomorrow's game, wee bit wet underfoot but fine. I'm remarkably calm just not but ths time tomorrow I'll be a bag of nerves.
  14. RIP thanks for the memories
  15. Real shame this Covid outbreak has upset our build up but let's move on. Come on, lets get back to looking forward to a huge game; these players will be charged up just now and ready for the battle ahead. Our backroom staff will have a game plan and confidence our guys. It's the weekend and we'll be able to have a few adult beverages tonight and tommorw to calm the nerves and be able to find out who the other finalists will be. Enjoy and look forward to the game. Come on St.Johnstone!
  16. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/av/football/57000257 Still gives me goosebumps watching this. Gets you right in the mood for a momentous game.
  17. I certainly don't want that. If we win a European place on merit that's brilliant but I wouldn't want a place at the expense of another team because of regulations; I wouldn't have this opinion if it was the old frim or one of the other "pop star" teams in Scotland of course.
  18. You make some good points and fitness and professionalism ( Fitness, diet, tactics etc) can't be underestimated. Having seen all these teams from different decades I think the Ormond era teams were more entertaining but I think some us of a certain vintage often look at things through rose tinted spectalcles. These last ten or more years we've never had it so good - long may it continue.
  19. Not buying it and I don't mean either paper. Zander will be fine.
  20. Spoony picked up a knock last week but is in the squad for a start. Muzz might be on the bench but by the sounds of it he is still a couple of weeks away before he starts. I suspect Bryson, Conway and Middleton will get a shot this week with the defense picking itself. Sadly looks like Tanser will be out, maybe for the rest of the season.
  21. Back to the day job and the lads visit Easter road to try and reel in Livingstone for that important 5th place. Hope to see Muzz getting a wee run out at some stage and hopefully some of the fringe players getting game time to keep us all sharp.
  22. Yes Prem sports too. The other Semi Final is exclusive to Premier sports- 4pm on the Saturday.
