  1. I don't think this helps. I hope the lad gets a start and scores a couple. Strikers live off confidence and he just needs a wee rub of the green.
  2. Can one of the mods please look at my profile to see if there is a problem. I have been unable to post for sometime. I have tried sending a message to admin but this too seems to have been unable to process. Not sure if anyone else is having issues, a few weeks back when i tried to quote someone on their post I for some reason ending up quoting an entirely different member of the board. Thanks for any help and please move this as appropriate.
  3. I cannot see TW putting Macca in there. The policy we have employed over the past couple of years where we have been careful with Macca has payed dividends and we have a long season ahead. This team without McLean is a poor imitation so why risk him. I think this is some mind games by Tommy to unsettle the Traiks.
  4. you talk some pi- sh at times. They were a neat sharp team and certainly more match fit than us. There are no pub teams in world football and we were left chasing the game after the lamest of goals by an unsound back four. Our two wing backs Beast and Foster who are probably two of our best players along with Macca were poor by their own standard. I think we can win over there but it might not be enough. On a positive note the fans were brilliant tonight and deserved more, watching football at this time of year in shirt sleeves is ace.
  5. Right there. That's why I think it would be a bad idea to bring him back. He spoiled his time with us because of all that nonsense, the game at Motherwell etc and by all accounts he has acted the same way with Sevco. No.
  6. Very difficult to see how this will go without knowing what standard Trakia can play at. I suspect this will be a very tricky tie and we need to get a quick start. Hoping our experience in Europe ( that sounds weird ) will see us through. I have a feeling we will have another squad member by tomorrow close of play.
  7. I'm fu***ng raging at this! Made my mind up about getting a season ticket. We are St.Johnstone not one of the big Glasgow teams where this sort of policy would be merited. very disappointed with this bulls**t!
  8. Tomorrow (Friday 23rd at 9am ) the new season fixtures are unveiled for season 2017/ 2018. I always look forward to these for the opening fixtures of a new season and then the Christmas and new year day games. I have a funny feeling we are going to be away at Hibs on opening day - we are usually a good litmus test for new teams coming up, just a hunch obviously Lets hope we get Aberdeen away for the Christmas fixture and home to Dundee at New Year.
  9. Cheerio Tam, Some greats moments from you- last minute winners, playing with the "Terry Butcher Bandage" in Europe, the works. Your finest moment- ice cold penalty to knock off the Swiss Lucern.
  10. A colleague of mine ( Dundee fan) telling me that Tam is close to agreeing terms with the Dees. Anyone have any info on this? I will be sad to see Tam move if this is true.
  11. Good to see Joe getting mentioned. Who chose the team? I have a real problem with that prick Logan being picked at right back.
  12. So another prodigious talent 2 years ago is following a lot of other really great prospects out the door. Anyone shed some light on our piss poor return from the young guns coming through? I'm a huge Kane and Thomo fan but is that the success ratio nowadays - 3 players including May to years of nurturing. We aren't a buying club so some where down the line we need to start producing good talent instead of relying on an outstanding first team coaching staff who must be on every radar in the country.
  13. Of course your right, my bad, but we drew the tie and lost the battle. A couple years ago I felt it was a lame way to end our Euro forays but here we go again.
  14. There was no mention or insinuation of TW throwing the game in the post. What the poster was getting at was had we progressed we would have had to travel almost as far as China to play the 2nd round tie, which for sure would have caused some logistical and financial problems. We certainly let that tie slip out of our hands and brutal was a good description- Ando nearly lost an eye! I bet I wasn't the only one leaving McD that night after drawing with Alashkhert thinking "that that was my lot" of watching European football with Saints. This team are amazing.
  15. Not convinced about this - club should have relayed the after match appreciation to the fans - every club in the land do this. Off topic - good to see you back on Random.
  16. Last game of another wonderful season. Very difficult to articulate what this time as a genuine top team in Scotland means to some of us of certain vintage. To sit proudly above the both Tayside "Giants" and both Edinburgh teams when no one can for a moment even question that we are there on merit is a special feeling. Undoubtedly these last 6, perhaps 7 years have been the greatest in our history. To the game; I see Clark starting ahead of Mannus and Thomson and Kane on from the start. No doubt the nutters from the west will through to cause mayhem outside the game but lets keep our composure on and off the field for another end to a brilliant season. Come on you Saints!
  17. This is a real sad state of affairs. I hope this gets resolved and you Ghosty are encouraged to continue after Broon sends you a heartfelt apology displaying his disappointment with his charges.
  18. Good spot. Hearts and Sevco will be putting out weakened teams anyway so get our main lads of to Costa wherever and get them as much time off as possible.
  19. Agree 100%. I was one of those who were of the opinion that Swanson was done when he signed for Hibs but have no problem eating a large plate of Crow; Swanson has returned to the form of early season and has been outstanding. I hope we can find another player who wants to resurrect their career. On Saturday's display Tam deserves another year at least.
  20. Great young player who I believe is sure to win our young player of the year despite only a few first team appearances- very popular amongst his peers, hope we keep him. Good luck next year and hope you kick on.
  21. Saints are 14/1 to win @ Betfred and 28/1 to win 0-1. Certainly worth a wee bet.
  22. Fair comment. We both want the best for our club and I chuffed to bits tonight. Happy days!
  23. Your opinion is noted and if Swanson is player of the year that's fine with me he played well earlier in the year and this would be deserved. I would however reinforce my point that Swanson's allegiance is to HIbs now and I ain't buying it that he is going to bust a gut in games or risk injury to assist St.Johnstone. He goes with my best wishes as I stated in another thread. As to young Thomson, how come there are so many experts on here who know how a young talented footballer will turn out based on a handful of games? I would play Thomson the rest of the season to let him build up some confidence and let see what he has. We need to be nurturing our young players not continually looking for retreads. Yes I am sincerely not kidding!
  24. Hope we can come out fighting for this one. No disrespect to Danny but I would park him up for the last few games he is done in Perth and I would rather have young Thomson get shirt than someone who will draw the ire of fans especially those die hards who are home and away fans. This is a draw all day long on my coupon.
  25. This discussion is what drives me up the wall about this site; loads of posts and moaning about something which is done and dusted and and not even a match thread started for a big game on Saturday. Swanson is gone - lets move on and find something else to discuss.
