  1. Absolutely gutted to see this warrior leave us......I hope that we can capture another big brute of a centre half that is willing to put his body on the line for his club and fellow players. He absolutely knew his limits and what he was good at and very rarely went outside these boundaries . He has still got physical presence and I doubt any forward would relish playing against him as he played everything that was in front of him. He is a mans man....yes he could put himself about.....but you would never hear about him complaining about getting it back. who do we realistically buy as the rest look a bit lightweight .....and we need a backbone that is always a good starting point.
  2. I have a home.....I have the Internet .....on occasion I like a drink........but I grew up in a house with no heating.....an alcoholic father.....no household luxuries.....but......I made a choice to opt out of the environment I grew up in by working relatively hard to secure a better life.....don't automatically assume that because I criticise an area or indeed certain people that I have not "walked in their shoes"........plenty of good people in Muirton, hunters and the likes.....communities can have an astonishing influence in turning things around.....and they manage it themselves not by throwing money at it and wasting valuable resources......
  3. The funking issue I have with this ...is....it's plain for us all to see, yet the councillors , those in charge of housing and any other person paid to make these decisions seem to do the exact opposite.......how much did it cost to knock down Muitron? How much did it cost to rebuild it? Then we put a lot of the sub culture back into the same area with a new house? Funking bonkers ...these type of people don't change.....they just wreck their new house and have no respect for others houses or gardens......Muirton of the Rookery as I believe it's now called will return at some stage to be another ghetto.......along with the town centre! Too late I know..but...why didn't the housing not keep Muirton standing.....I know this is contravential but it kept a lot of the scum in the same place and the Police new where to find them? The houses were excellent structurally .....should have sold them off cheap to the tenants and empowered them to drag the area up......no cost of demolition or rebuild and outright profit from the sale of houses.......simples.....
  4. Surely if there are plans to expand the population of the city around Stanley/Luncarty/Berthapark.....as well as the proposals around Bridge of Earn....it's an essential requirement to have a desirable centre to attract the people required to live in these new homes. This is a massive opportunity to create jobs and regenerate the city. This in turn will bolster the property market and increase the amount of tourists and day trippers that visit the city......it's not that long ago that people from all over Scotland traveled to Perth for a days shopping and to sample the relaxed enjoyable atmosphere/ environment that really did exist. Another point.....why do our local council start housing all the junkies in and around the city centre in places like St Catherine's square.....I recall trying to get my foot on the property market not so long ago and it was almost impossible from a financial point of view.......what chance do kids now have if they are forced to live next door to state sponsored drug addicts?????
  5. I hate to say this but we all know that Dundee has left Perth behind in terms of development and investment in facilities and amenities.............what does Perth need? And I don't mean a "Nandos or a virgin gym". I am suggesting that a major project/plan should be thought of to reinvigorate what I see as a flagging city. Here's my go.....knock down the city hall...create a city square...already thought of but put a glass roof over it Do away with all the car parks in mill street and develop that area with a new shopping centre and pedestrianise the street. We as a nation also allow historic Scotland too much clout in terms of protecting buildings....look above every shop in the south side o south street....it's falling down.....knock it down and start again....
  6. Heard today that the Legen that was Kung Fu Wullie Williamson died...buried already . Can somebody please confirm? A real Perth legend.......a fighting machine but an absolute gentleman in my opinion and never heard a bad word said about him! I recall a night outside the Wheel inn when five of six punters thought they would have their fill....I stood there in awe after he laid them all out....admittedly they were drunk but they all attacked at the same time. RIP
  7. The Cave in south street........the Carrousel...........
  8. I am a saints fan through and through although not a regular at games for a number of reasons.....like many others. I am though, thoroughly dissapointed about our performance yesterday. Commitment and effort is a minimum requirement for any fan and that will usually be enough toovercome the dissapointment of being beaten by a better team. I watched a younger, fitter, more powerful, more committed, more spirited, but probably a less talented team win yesterday. Saints are laiden with better players than queens but application is the all important factor. TW didnt send his team out and oreder them to play poorly so to heap the blame on him is unfair. Mcfadden, Lappin, Swanson and the likes are players we would like to see in a saints team doing well and in those circumstances we would be in awe of their undoubted pedigree. But thats what you sign up for being a fan of a team from a small city with a minimal budget. Funk me I am gutted we are out but did you in all honesty see a repeat of last year.......neither did I! On a positive note our support was exceptional. Young team were fantastic....I will not encourage the dark side of them but they created a touch of the atmosphere that makes you want to go to games. That primal sense of belonging to something is what we really go for............123 who are we ? Away days are what we live for......
  9. At least 1500...,., that should be a realistic target......get round very one of your mates that is a saintee and bend his ear......half eight our bus is leaving...even a doonhaimer on our bus.......chancers nightclub is hopefully gonna be made open and an unofficial base prior to the game....I will post when I have confirmation.....nice wee toon Dumfries....very like Perth in terms of looks.....but a bit smaller.....plenty of pubs in the town centre......might even get a partisan welcome from the locals which will enhance the atmosphere.....
  10. Surely to funk we should b able to get that.......I was thinking 1500.....imagine the noise....imagine the craik .......these are the games that can create an atmosphere that gets people coming to games......cmoan the funk....get yer name doon and let's have a ball.....better than any night out on the town......"Saintees here....Saintees there....Saintees every funking where"....... Get this going!!! Every poster on this forum has a responsibility to Saints .............
  11. On the back of such a positive display last night.....surely we should be cranking up the interest in the Queens game......after all.......a cup tie...an away game......over 100 miles of travel to the game....a good few hours of lubrication....taking over their town in good humour...old fashioned terracing.....all the fans grouped together for warmth......the young team present and vocal.....every other fan singing in a choir ......moan the Saints....get round yer mates an put the pressure on everyone that is undecided......this could be as good as any in recent history......
  12. Jailers tours taking two buses down........how many fans do you think we will take?
  13. Route 2...... St Johns Square!......Supertramp........Scott st!.........Idols.....I think ....old high st? Menzies High st.....all Fred perrys and stapress !
  14. Per lui.........first designer shop in Perth.......corner of South Methven st and count place....class!
  15. Ironically I am traveling to SHeffield tomorrow and I hope Stevie is staying in the same hotel....so I can give him some stick.......he is a good lad , level headed and a hard working boy who has enough belief in his ability coupled with a drive to succeed ...so he should realise his potential........I hope Sheffield Wednesday grow with the success that I hope STevie May will bring them
  16. To say I am gutted is an understatement........but I will say there is something that stinks about all of this......do/did Saints need to sell our messiah? Was he pushed out? Did he want to go? I should still be riding high on a tsunami size of a wave given last years exploits? SB banging on about hoping last years performance would bring in more season tickets? Well Mr Brown.....we as fans feels cheated...you have removed our prize asset ......and with a short sighted view......another season of Stevie banging in Lets say only 15 -20 goals would have kept us happy, channeled more interest and people through the turnstiles and increased his value far more ......and as we all accept we are a selling club .....everybody would have been happy .....I understand economic principles and this does not make sense......something smelly
  17. Don't you think it's a bit ironic that they, Stevenage , have had so many ex saints in recent times...........
  18. I do appreciate that the party will continue for a while yet...but.....if somebody out there has a video of our trumpet playing and scarf waving.........I am desperate to see it.......
  19. Will somebody firkin please upload a video of the scarves as soon as possible????

    Dundee Utd

In no attempt to be patronising nor gloating at our result...but.....well done to UTD for the numbers that followed your great club to the final today...many thanks and absolute respect to the many buses we passed today that were tangerine.....you applauded us and we returned the compliment.....
  21. I am absolutely humbled by this and other similar replies.......we are not the old firm nor do we have their history or financial clout......we are not even in the realms of tradition that follow Aberdeen or Dundee it'd.......we don't have the support that follow Hearts or Hibs.....but what we do have is resolve and resilience in copious amounts....we have now found a manager that fits what St Johnstone are.....we are a club and city that belong together ...we will never be at the top of the ladder but we are honest hard working people with decency at the core of the club...... Congratulations the Brown family...you are THE ambassadors for OUR family...PERTH!
