So much of football is psychological, that's why teams go on good runs of form, and then be searching for a win for ages but with the same squad and tactics.
After last season, there is always going to be a 'what now' in the minds of players, a sense that we've hit our peak and we can't go any further. When you win something, it can be hard to keep that momentum going as you lose some of the hunger - Rangers are finding that out this season.
Add to that being so close to qualifying for the group stage in Europe, something that would've transformed the club due to the financial rewards involved. I honestly think we'd have been easy top 6 team for the next decade if we'd have got through. Plus, Kerr & McCann would've stayed at least another season for the experience of playing in Europe, potentially increasing their value in the process.
Then, of course, the 2 deadline deals, and the fact that the replacements were short-term contracts or loans.
Put this together, and there's no surprise we're having a difficult season. The only thing the club can do is ride it out, try not to lose any more big players, and begin to rebuild for next season.

Of course it's the strongest league in a while. You've replaced Hamilton with Hearts, and every side looks better this season apart from us and maybe Livi & Rangers.
We're paying the price for bad planning in the transfer window. What worries me most is that Davidson is actually quite happy to settle for sub-standard performances. The fact that he thinks Crawford and MacPherson have been is so good is beyond me. His signings so far have been loans, oldies with a year or two left in them, and foreign players he doesn't give any game time to.
Imagine if he'd have actually given Melamed more of a chance last year, and he'd have therefore signed another contract. We'd be in a far better position I think.

Has played at a decent level. Interesting to see how he does.

Have to say that, despite the occasional goal, I am getting a bit tired of Ali Crawford's displays. He's light as a feather, and his decision making can be poor. I think most of the time we're probably playing him out of position. I'd prefer us to look elsewhere. Kennedy and Wright are still available.

If he's potentially coming in January, it might be that Muller is being recalled, or is Ambrose's contract only until Jan? Unless we are doing the unthinkable and possibly bringing someone in, without a player leaving.

I've done my scouting, and based on the usual Callum Davidson criteria, it'll be Ryan Sandford.
    Ticks all 3 boxes.
    - On loan
    - From Millwall
    - Little to no senior experience

I think it's reasonable for there to be a bit of speculation about why a player has hardly been seen. However, we had this with Melamed last year, so it seems likely that this is down to Davidson being cautious and wanting to make sure players fit the system rather than anything down to Eetu himself.
I think Davidson has spoken himself about preferring tried and tested players in this division, and I think we will continue to sign players from the clubs just above & below us in the league, plus those who have gone down to England and lost their way.
Depending on how things develop, I think there are some questions about how we prepare a foreign player for life in this league.

You seem to have confused this fans forum with Callum Davidson’s advisory committee.
Last time I checked, a fans forum was absolutely they best place to express views like the one expressed by @RandomGuy regarding what we should do with Crawford.
Would be a pretty boring forum if the only people who posted were the people who were paid to advise Callum Davidson on key decisions.

    No.
He took at least one bad knock on Wednesday, and I think yesterday was exactly the type of game where you bring him on to help defend the box, so just guessing he had a knock as he wasn't used.

You think? In the 2nd half Nikansen, Levitt, Pawlett tore you apart, only the keeper stopped a proper hiding.  If that’s your outfield being ‘immense’ your are in trouble.

Clepington Road closed so would try Dura Street car park or Dundonald Street area and walk up to park.

McLaughlin has played more league games for Rangers this season than hes missed.
Kelly v Clark is a toss up tbh, both solid keepers capable of the spectacular.
Not entirely sure why theres such a meltdown over whether Clark sits on the bench for the games or if Kelly sits on the bench. Clark is clearly now in the thoughts of the Scotland staff and I'd feel pretty confident in thinking hes 4th choice for Scotland as it stands.
If McLaughlin drops out Rangers side again then I wouldn't be shocked, if Clark keeps up his form, to see Clark above him again and back in the squad.
Time is ticking for Craig Gordon who turns 39 in a few months too.
Plenty of time and further opportunities for Zander. His foots in the door now so he just needs to make sure Steve Clarke keeps looking through it, and he'll get his rewards.

Referees getting it wrong is part of the fun, it adds extra spice to the game. I think VAR is one of the worst things that has happened to football in recent years. It's another way of separating the 'top leagues' from the lower ones, and turns the game - with all its mistakes and idiosyncrasies - into a science, bland and boring.

To be honest I'd rather put up with occasional refereeing errors than have the disruption that VAR has brought to the English Prem.

The fact that's it not been reported makes me think it might be until January, or pay-per-play.
I'm told that the reason he left Livi was that he struggled to play regular games fitness-wise. I imagine we will rotate that back three so will be less of a problem for us. If used well, I think he could be an asset.

That looks about right to me. It depends who is up to full fitness I imagine out of Gilmour, Crawford & Vertainen. It could be Crawford instead of Gilmour, and perhaps May in the Wotherspoon position.

I have to say, I agree - 2 points from these games after the morale drop from losing two key players would be a good result. 1 point wouldn't be a disaster. 4 points would really get our season going.

Vertainen can apparently play wide, would rather see him than MoH. With Kane as the figurehead.

Happily not see MoH used as anything other than impact sub tbqh.

I was told he didn’t want to move to Hibs and ruin his relationship with us. Wasn’t really any real career progression.

A good season at Wigan and he could move top end of the Chanpionship
