soulfulsaint
Good thread. Tried to collate all the names. Obviously some dispute over a guy like Kemble, who was classed as Dutch but born in Surinam. Think Benito played in a very good Surinam Charity team which also included Ruud Hullit, Frank Rykard, van Hoijdonk and some others, for a disaster charity or maybe an orphanage. They played Dutch select.

lethamsaintee
How do you work that out? He was neither, if you want to get technical. At his time of birth he would have been classed as Soviet.

101 Saint
Probably the brawest (?) in my time as a Saintee. Third for me; just behind Sammy J in first and our current number 14 in second.

sjfc99
Dino was the first Austrian to play in Scottish football. Thomas Anderson - Sweden Peter Fyhr - Finland? Owen Coyle Keith O'Halloran Alan Kernaghan - ROI Gerry McMahon - NI Sammy Youssef - Denmark Edited April 10, 2010 by sjfc99
stevensan
Fyhr was Swedish, as was Thomas Anderson - both total gash. we did have a norweigan though - he played on trial for 2 games I think - scored one and set up two on his debut against Stranraer - Peter Noren I think. Tried to sign him but decided to go and work in his brothers fishing company instead!
lethamsaintee
Was Noren no Swedish too?
stevensan
sure he was norweigan but checking the temple records now... meanwhile, if we are counting trialists in this (who at least made the bench): Fabrice Monakino - france - bench v motherwell IIRC Roger Guy Nzamba - Gabon - made the bench v someone i'm sure Luis Cassule - angola - played for the reserves on many occasions. Paulo Dos Reis - Argentina - think he actually signed after playing a closed door game - then disappeared. meanwhile temple records dont seem to go back far enough - think it was the 95/96 season though.
