You may have seen the thread on Saints Chat re this pre-season friendly, and the fact that Wee John will be running a 208 bus to that game.

WJ also suggested that the Edinburgh Saints may want to organise something that day for those coming through.

Any thoughts on a pre-match, post-match get together will the lads and lasses travelling fae Perth?

Or if not familiar with leisure centre's then the Morrison's supermarket! Agree with the Stockbridge suggestion, plenty of quality boozers for a nice sunny summer afternoon!

Would be nice to get somewhere that we can make aware that a bus load (or two??) are coming and perhaps make an effort to lay on some grub. Not sure of any pubs in Stockbridge that would do that, and have an outside area.

I work just along from Stockbridge so could take a wander along one lunchtime and check out a few options. Could be possibilities in Inverleith area as well

Nearest pub to the ground is Telford Arms and is walkable(just) Large area but clientele are a bit suspect. Cant think of one pub in Stockbridge where footie fans would be welcomed with open arms and given the kick-off time they will all be geared up to lunches rather than a booze-up.Bears suggestion of Ferry Rd is more practical and the 21 bus runs every 15 mins.No idea of any Black Bull though.Oceanna Sports bar is cheap and may be worth a phone ahead.

Ye olde inn in Davidson Mains has large bar, lounge and massive beer garden. Nice place, 21 bus stop right outside - 5 mins on bus to the ground

Sounds like a go-er......anybody able to pop in and ask them if they are up for hosting some Saintees on 2nd July?

Spoke to the manager at Ye Olde Inn, Said we are more than welcome to all go, however it is Gala day so it will be busier than normal so can't reserve tables or do anything 'special' for us, although they will be serving lunches / bar snacks as normal.

Might be a pretty good atmosphere though, as it is Gala Day.

What's everyones thoughts on selecting this place as where to arrange to meet the 208 bus folk, and any other Saintees planning on coming through?

We get a concensus, we can post it in the main Saints Chat area as an open invitation

Anybody planning going to Ye Olde Inn? Will we tell 208 bus to head there?
