One of the three awards to be handed out be WAP at the awards night at the start of May is for Goal of the Season. Unfortunately this award can only include goals scored up until the end of March to allow for getting things sorted out so using the winning goals from each Goal of the Month poll on this site, the following goals are up for consideration.

August - Danny Grainger vs Rangers - Seeing the penalty box crowded with bodies, captain Jody Morris plays a corner to Danny Grainger, who is 25 yards from goal. The left back takes a touch before unleashing a tremendous drive past Allan McGregor.

September - Sam Parkin vs St Mirren (h) - A superb Alan Maybury cross from the right is guided home into the top corner by the head of Sam Parkin to put Saints two up against the Buddies.

October - Sam Parkin vs Celtic - The big striker again but this time a volley off the outside his boot from around twelve yards out.

December - Sam Parkin vs St Mirren (a) - Same opponents as in August and his head again but this time an unstoppable bullet of a header after a great run and cross by Dave Mackay.

January - Cleveland Taylor vs Kilmarnock - On as a late substitute having only arrived back in Scotland a few hours before, Taylor picks up the ball on the right, drives at Garry Hay, beating the Killie left back before drilling the ball past Cammy Bell into the far right corner.

February - Liam Craig vs Partick Thistle - On a tricky McDiarmid Park pitch, Liam Craig takes control of the ball thirty yards out before rifling a dipping volley over Scott Fox in the Jags goal.

March - Collin Samuel vs Brechin City - In front of the TV cameras, Murray Davidson lifts the ball over the Brechin defence and at the second attempt, Samuel smashes a volley past Craig Nelson from an acute angle.
