Cagey
Heard a rumour that John Lewis wanted to move into McEwans but council would not negotiate on rates. May be rubbish as I can't see why they would choose Perth over Dundee or Stirling.
Gussie
In the regions, JL prefer to be in specific shopping centres and where there will be good parking...and we all know thats an issue fur the Cooncil. Scotland has very few stores. Croydon doesnt have one and thats in a catchment of at least 250,000. Being in an area where theres plenty money being spent also helps. mad saints fan
Thought it was Joules who were in advanced talks to take over the Mcewens building? As far as I can see John Lewis was only suggested by a local shop owner in the courier, no actual evidence to suggest they actually are interested. MySpazz
what's the West End branch? Is that the one at the top of South Street? Ahhh shame. I had an account there once upon a time with a paying in book!
AthensSaint
Aye, saw that, but good on them for relocating so many. spent t0day in Oban, wee bit of a pub crawl. The place was a nightmare last night apparently. Utter hate fest. We went in decent pubs still scrubbing the blood off the mirrors - literally in one case. One Australian bar maid we spent some time chatting to, was utterly bewildered by it all. We tried to explain that not all of Scotland was like that, but she was packing her bags. She was like, "in Australia, we are feckin mentel about sport, but what has this to do with sport?" scotlands shame. apologies to Babychunder and Athens - there were lots of immigrant staff in the hotel, providing excellent service, but we haven't had time to tell them that multiculturalism doesn't work and they should f uck off home yet. Sorry lads, we'll be sure to tell them tomorrow, now that they've had a good view of how wholesome white Christians behave. Apologies accepted. HOODLUM65
101 chippy in auld high street is shut Not surprised at this news. Went in week past Friday for a bag of chips. On arriving home found I had a bag of the scraps. Not a decent chip in the bag. Vowed never to return, however they have taken the best option. Marino's is the plaice to go. Carron
Have been told the 101 was in a lot of debt. The day the place it shut, some official looking people turned up unannounced and the staff were told to get out, no notice. Locks changed. Presumably everything was left as it was with no chance to put anything away. etc. Hence the flies.

Ginger Bakers rebel army
Is the Quality Cafe shut? Professor Geoff Foster (Celtic Geoff ex of Letham) imparted this information at 5s in Inverness last week. Very sad if true. Hopefully not the end for Marco and Co. Been shut for a year or so. Wall collapsed at the derelict Clapham Bar next door. Developers Zach Construction given 1 year extension to redevelop or its coming down. No idea what Marco is doing.
