Havana Saint
Exactly. Aim high.....CL dates is what we should pay our attention to. Work hard and beat Utd. Celtic defeat Motherwell and we are on their tails prior to going to Fir Park. COYS!!!
Ronaldo
What about the CL entry points? You're right Kevin, I've said all along until that is ruled out it is on. This Old Firm Premiership has been finalised, normally a boring two horse race but this season one of the horses couldn't afford its stables or food. However the race for the 3rd place now Champions League place is the most exciting competition in Scottish football and definitely refreshing. I'm not sure whether SKY and the other media will reflect this and promote the Scottish game in this way though. Motherwell are obviously in poll position but let's say both United and Saints beat Motherwell or let's say they lose to the OF when one of the other two don't Probably the best top six play-offs yet and a very good example of what a more competitive league might produce. Crowds may even start rising over several seasons of such events.

Vieri
What would happen if Hearts were to win the Scottish Cup? Would the entire top six qualify for Europe (with the obvious exception of Rangers)?
mainstand
What would happen if Hearts were to win the Scottish Cup? Would the entire top six qualify for Europe (with the obvious exception of Rangers)? Yes top 2 excluding Rangers would go to champions league cup winner would go into europe Next 2 in the league would go into Europe. Only affects Saints if Hearts finish above us. Edstar101
Taken from OS.... "Saints’ hopes of qualifying for the Europa League were given a boost yesterday – by the team that ended our Scottish Cup hopes for the season. Hearts defeat of Celtic in yesterday’s Hampden semi-final means that if the Tynecastle side beat Hibs in the all-Edinburgh final in May then they will qualify for the Europa League via their cup success. That in turn would vacate a Europa League spot to be gained via SPL finishing positions meaning that even the side finishing in 6th position in the SPL could gain a Euro entry. Based on current league positions Champions Celtic will have one of the two Champions League slots available to Scottish clubs and taking into account that Rangers are unlikely to be eligible for European competition next season, Motherwell will take the second champions league slot with St Johnstone and Dundee United taking the two Europa League slots available through league placings. If Saints were to finish the season in 6th place but Hearts win the Scottish Cup then we would – as things stand - still qualify. However, we could still miss out: If Hibs win the Scottish Cup and we finish 6th then Hibs, Hearts and United would take the three Europa League slots and just to add to the conundrum, if Hearts were to win the Scottish Cup AND overhaul Motherwell to finish in third place in the SPL then Hearts would take the Champions League slot, the Europa League spot available via the Scottish Cup would go to beaten finalists Hibs and – if Saints finished 6th – the Europa League slots would go to Motherwell and Dundee United! With the five post-split games to go, let's hope the boys do enough to get into the Europa League under our own acheivements. " Come on guys, bit of positivity......CL for Saints next Season
