New League Set Up

Sportsound are reporting that the SFA is considering setting up a new league under their auspices to replace both the SFL and SPL as they cannot agree the way forward.

I think the SFA should get more involved in the league setups in order that they can implement strategies as a whole in the national game. There's too many seperate rules and regulations, differing marketing, duplication of duties and committees, often lack of unity in relation to progress, excessive time consuming bureacracy etc.

Slf is right there are too many organisations to run one sport in such a small country. Even Spain, Italy, Germany and Holland have less football organisations and they do reasonably well. We should all become one with different departments organising different trophies and sponsors, and with national standards imposed and controlled by the SFA. The top league clubs could still negotiate TV and other sponsorship and with all 42 clubs still having autonomy with regard to business but all football matters should surely be under one organisation.

It shouldn't be a dream just a case of necessity and common sense.
