I wanted the LG, but it wasn't out.

Looking on the web, it's a problem with Samsung tvs... It does not matter if it's over warranty! Goods must last a reasonable length of time and less than two years for a top brand TV is not reasonable. Search for the Sale of Goods Act on something like Money Saving Expert as he is good at putting things in plain terms. Get on to where you got it from and quote THE LAW at them and don't be fobbed off.

ancientsaint
Whatever you decide to do Mogs - dont try and move your telly -they are pretty heavy and if they slip out of your grasp -then BANG.......Then its down to your Insurance company . stevensan
Had same issue with mine. Fixed it myself - total cost around 5 quid. Its midnight over here but give me till tomorrow and i'll dig out instructions. It only requires basic soldering skills...

mogs1968
Had same issue with mine. Fixed it myself - total cost around 5 quid. Thanks for that, there seems to be a lot of advice on Internet, telling you to do it how do fix it, and how easy it is. I think if it was a cheap tv I wouldn't hesitate, but am a bit apprehensive attempting it with this one. babychunder
Electricity, and large capacitors, are dangerous even with the power off. Don't mess with it unless you know what you are doing.
Stamford Saintee
Our Samsung 3d tv is having trouble powering on, clicking sounds, website says capacitators are prob blown? anyone help? Was a TV Engineer. Cos you're lucky enough to live in "Coagsville" try Ancrum Electronics or M Tech in Auchterarder 01764 660055. They may have seen the fault before and give you an idea of cost. My "training" consisted o humpin big auld tellies up and doon stairs that were too much for the fat git. The lift in grants wis aye knackered and his shop wis on the top floor tae.
