special mention to the BBC who don't even have the game mentioned as happening!

Yes they do along with the result and a match report so I think a few apologies are called for!!

Glad everyone sees this tie as still being alive as I do too. much better 2nd half performacne and I think nigel made his starting place in next weeks team, hopefully tade is bak too and that turkish team however its spelt wont know what hit them.

2 goals in next week and take them in to extra time and a penalty shoot out win.

Bring on the scousers

With everyone who say this is still doable, the Turks met a very cautious, almost timid side in the first half, and still the Turks weren't really doing much silky play or anything....

i saw many players on both sides demonstrate how not to control a ball.... this is a fair match, we are still in it.

Unlucky to lose those two goals and we weren't outclassed.

I reckon we can still get a result next week.

Please please please Lomas just start using your feckin substitutes, can't take another season of that. If you're not sure when just ask someone in the stand and theyll tell you!

New signings looked good too (Cregg off rather than Millar??) and Gary Millar looks good, he was held in very high regard by the Ross County supporters.

Here's to the season ahead, COYS.

I think alot of people will simply right us off now but like others i think we can still do it. A goal in the first 20 minutes or so would be great and open the tie up again. Its such a shame we didn't have Tade out there tonight with that bombscare of a keeper, fingers crossed they bring him to perth.

So unlucky. 2 feckin deflected goals for them.

They are a better team but I'm glad it stayed at 2-0 as we have a real chance next week. Their keeper wants to come for everything.

I hope Tade is fit for next week, him and Nige up front.

COYS

If you pack your defence then deflected goals are the most likely.

Not unhappy with that, gives us something to play for next week!

Exactly.Tie not over which was my biggest worry before the game. Good crowd next week hopefully.

How does the economics stack up. Do the teams share the gates & do they get anything from EUAFA for taking part.

hi guys, here are my comments about match.

- 2 lucky goals for eses.

- 1 penalty referee error for eses

- eses played below my expectations

- st johnstone start attacking in last 10 min.

- last 10 min score could easily be 2-2 if saints were lucky.

- our new goalkeeper is disaster, oh my god !!!

- if saints gains 2-3 corners, count them 2-3 goals because of our goalkeeper

- why did saints showed too much respect and played defensive? if saints played attacking, it could be 2-1 or 2-2 or 3-2 at least.

- for the second leg, it is very hard for saints to win 3-0, i m sure eses will score at least 1. saints need 4 at least i think.

- and finally i did not like ESES fans performance they were excited but not as good as we used to.

I think thats a pretty fair summary. I just hope ur wrong about eses scoring at home. Think an early goal for us and a solid defensive performance from us could see us back in the tie. I think we showed you too much respect tonight but with missing a key forward we were limited to what we could do.

If the pen they're on about was the one they kept showing replays of then please, sit down and be quiet, his hands were by his side almost behind his body, what is he supposed to do? tie his hands behind his back?

i didnot see any replays, you might be right. my view was not so good on the stadium.

first of all, just glad we didn't lose a late third again, like we did against Monaco.

First half not too great - too defensive, no creativity.

By the end of the game, though, we were playing some great stuff. Last ten minutes seemed better than anything we produced towards the latter end of last season. After that performance, feeling good about the new season.

I think the BBC should be apologising to us for no Sportsound recovery. I e-mailed them 2 days ago to ask if game was on the radio and got no response.

They covered the Vaasa and Monaco game if I remember correctly.

I dont think I have ever seen a corner taken and deliberately put out as a sporting gesture before. That was a real decent touch. Well done you guys.

Watched it on a live stream from Turkish TV, Thought it was a very good performance, Unlucky with both goals first one was a lucky deflection off the boys arse, second one a saints OG or that's what it looked like on the PC. 2nd leg Lomas must go 2 up front. A wee bit disappointed with the ref, Wrighty was clearly injured but no play on, One of their players hit the deck foul given. Good performance by Saints, decent performance with 2 enormous pieces of jamminess by the Turks, very under par performance by ref.

Same here emailed them asking were they covering the tie...no answer.

Hopefully having seen the first leg we will be more confident in our own ability going forward and have a right go.

I suspect had we had a go in that game they would have picked us off.

And well done Dede...I like to see that kind of sportsmanship in a game.

Looking forward to the return already:razz:

saints put the ball out a couple of times when there were knocks so it was nice they reciprocated. a few meaty challenges but it all seemed hard but fair - dont think there was a yellow in the game. also thought the ref was pretty much spot on,

hoping for some horizontal rain and wind for the return leg

Think I'm happy to take the 2-0 defeat and move on to next week. For what I imagine was various reasons, we weren't really at it in the first half but still unlucky to lose the goal to a deflection. Mannus hadn't been worked at all. We didn't keep the ball nearly well enough in that first half but it was our first proper outing, they had numbers (pressing) in the middle of the park and obviously the heat would be a factor too. Seen us shut out Celtic well in our last four trips to Celtic Park so not that surprised we limited them but we usually keep the ball better. Undoubtedly missed Jody Morris and still concerned at what appears to be his replacement.

Second half was more encouraging and certainly not the one way procession the first had been. The changes made towards the end and subsequent chances created will offer Lomas food for thought and hopefully the players some confidence. As mentioned, their goalkeeper looked suspect. Hopefully have a go at them next week with at least two of May, Hasselbaink and Tade in the side.
