Southpaw
I'm on first name terms at Aladdins, and want a change tonight. What do you have as a takeaway...where do you go?
mad saints fan
Often switch between Manzil and Odesi for an Indian, used to get Aladdin's years ago but felt the quality of their food went downhill, was a while back mind. Yummy Yummy or the Hong Kong for a Chinese. Yummy Yummy do amazing chips as well, Chicken Satay on top of their chips is amazing!
Saint Ziggy Stardust
I sometimes get a delivery from the Maza in the High Street. If you're feeling brave order the Goa Special Vindaloo. <- You'll end up looking like this. Never had any problems with the food or service so far. Saint Pomarium of Flats
I'm on first name terms at Aladdins, Ahahaha, that's such a Perth-y thing to say. You go in and go "Alright Aladdin?" and he goes "Aye no bad boss" and BAM, you're a friend of the establishment and big man aboot toon. Steve Zissou
Tabla for a curry, Seria A for pizza. Aladdins load all their currys with red food dye which puts me off, and they all taste the same, Manzil's seem to water their takeaways down. SingaporeSaint
Loch Fyne Oysters fly fresh vacuum packed kippers every day from Loch Fyne to Heathrow. The shop in Covent Garden is obligatory every time I am in London. My favourite take away.

Saint Ziggy Stardust
Some Edinburgh mob are supposedly planning to turn St Paul's Church into an Indian restaurant and throwing sums about like a million squid to get it into a fit state. They must be mad. I can think of at least six other places who will be in direct competition within quick walking distance. They'll have to be extremely good to recoup their investment. mad saints fan
How many Indian restaurants does Perth need to have? but suppose at the end of the day if a business wants to start up in Perth and give folk jobs then it's no a bad thing. Edstar101
In my experience, Indian food in Edinburgh is of a higher quality than that found in Perth....and maybe the 'edinburgh mob' will bring that quality with them. The problem is though that Indian food in Edinburgh is about twice the price as it is in Perth. If they try and charge Edinburgh prices, regardless of the quality, then they will likely struggle, unless they feel there is a niche where people will pay more for a high quality sit-down meal Edited January 21, 2013 by Edstar101
SingaporeSaint
Indian food in Scotland is generaly shite. In fact nearly all the food is Bangladedshi. dhs
Is Aladdins, Nawab, Manzil & Dalyanos not all owned by the same folk? Had food from them all over the last couple of months apart from Dalyanos and cant fault any of them - good meals/buffet sitting in and massive helpings from the carry out!
