franco
What sort of figure would Saints get as a development fee if he stayed til his contract expired? Falkirk got a riduclous fee a couple of years ago for Mark Stewart so it may be quite high.
ODAB
Keep hearing that Sporting Lisbon have this great track record of buying young talent then selling it on at huge profit. What examples are there of this? They had a young lad came in. Sold him to some English mob and don't think much else was heard of him after that. Nelly78
Keep hearing that Sporting Lisbon have this great track record of buying young talent then selling it on at huge profit. What examples are there of this? Figo and Ronaldo were/are not bad players. A few others who have made the club serious cash in recent years include Nani (to Man Utd), Simao and Quaresma (to Barca), Moutinho (to Porto) and Hugo Viana (to Newcastle). They've got a young midfielder, Carvalho, being linked with a £37m move to Man Utd or Chelsea just now. Supposedly 10 of the Portuguese Squad at the 2012 world cup finals started off at Sporting, so they must do something right. Anyway, Stevie May. Probably around £500k-£750k this summer unless he signs a contract extension. If he does extend his contract, we would probably get £1m. If we were a more fashionable selling Club it would be more though. Edited July 5, 2014 by Nelly78

ODAB
Excellent point. Well made. So that's one. 11 years ago. Moutinho Nani Veloso Hugo Viana Luis Figo Thiago Ilorri van Wolfswinkel Bruma Insua Ronaldo Quaresma Simao They've sold another 4 at least in the last ten years to Barca including Amuneke (not that he did particularly well at Barca) and Ie who may be promoted to the first team this season. Now if you take those collective transfers you could settle the debts run up by Rangers, Dundee and Hearts combined.

SaintJet
£800,000. In the press today. SB must say no to this. For fs surely someone at the club have enough savy to work out a contract for Steve so he is happy and we can let him go for decent money even if it is in January.
