What makes you think that? I've been completely reasonable and rational in disagreeing with you. Where have I "struggled"?

You're the person on this thread who has described being disagreed as being "hung, drawn and quartered".

Craig gave his opinion and because its one you don't like you shot him down in flames, i happen to have similar opinions and because of that I'm a bigot an Islamaphobe and that buzzword just now a racist. Typical socialist behaviour tolerant of everything until it's something you don't like. Incidentally have you watched Pat Condell yet?

I didn't "shoot him down in flames". I disagreed with him. I didn't call him any names, I didn't say anything nasty to him. His opinion was massively hypocritical and inconsistent and I demonstrated that to him - he's totally free to come back to me and debate that with me. Odd that you find it perfectly reasonable for a guy to irrationally call for people to be deported based on a probably-fictional dislike of Christmas trees (seriously!), yet you think it's me who's being intolerant for daring to highlight the flaws in his point.

You're a bigot and an Islamophobe because you express bigoted and Islamophobic views. That's hardly my fault. Your views perfectly fit the accepted definitions of both terms - again, that's not my fault. Should I not be allowed to point that out on a forum? You're allowed to describe me as a socialist; why can't I describe you as an Islamophobe? What you actually appear to want is to be able to express such views without anybody else being able to come back at you with any argument or criticism. We're having a debate here, and as such we're disagreeing - I've been no more "intolerant" of you than you have of me.

And yes, I already know who Pat Condell is.

Aye he likes a big burd like you!!!!

Turkey.....gobble, gobble.....

After decades of giving it a good stuffing up its bum, roasting it in the hot, searing oven then succulently swallowing the juicy , dripping white flesh. After the comments on here, we are having T-bone steaks this year

you can call me anything you like doesn't mean it's correct though but it's your opinion and you are entitled to it. You think pat is a bigot, racist and Islamaphobe aswell then? I suspect you know he is telling the truth but you won't admit it

Me saying it doesn't make it correct, but I'd be interested to see an explanation from you of how you think your views do not fit the definitions of bigot and Islamophobe. A bigot is "a person who is intolerant of those holding different opinions" - you are intolerant of Muslims, right? An Islamophobe is someone who has "a dislike of or prejudice against Islam or Muslims, especially as a political force" - that describes your viewpoint perfectly. How can you deny that?

Pat Condell speaks his opinion. It's not a matter of "truth" (again, you seem to confuse truth with opinion). Some of those opinions I agree with, some of them I don't. And yes, some of his opinions are deeply Islamophobic. Of course they are.

Blueheaven do you agree with this. If you or I burn a copy of the Koran on our streets we can be sent to jail and yet if we burn a copy of the bible on the same streets nothing is done about it. Is that acceptable? I reckon if you happened to live somewhere like Preston, Blackburn, Bradford etc you would then become a racist bigoted Islamaphobe yourself. Anyway did you enjoy boney m?

if you are a christian and somebody burns a bible you should really 'turn the other cheek' i don't think that concept is in Islam. probably best to burn neither. with the tension in the air at present burning the Koran is inflmamitory. christians seem to be (in general)a bit more tolerant

I understand what you are saying, the question is why? Everything in this country is revolving round not upsetting the muslims.

Why cant we freely insult all these stereotypes?? Isnt that our right as a tolerant modern society?

I once got "harangued" for being a non-believer of the supposed big Guy in the sky and not celebrating Christmas by 6 supposed tolerant Christians who happened to be government officials. I was livid. Nothing to with me being over sensitive, this was out and out trying to ram their life choices down my friggin throat. Threatened to report them to the the City wide Equality & Diversity Committee. They soon shut up.

Some would have us believe its always the "foreign" religions that are in some way out to convert us all.

In my experience of the door knockers, they always tend to be radical christians, and in some ways are just as offensive as the radicals of other religions.

Beware of people trying to ram their "life choices" down your throat!

Every year, someone tries to tell me our 'multicultural elites' are trying to ban Xmas...every year I ask for some evidence, every year passes with no such evidence.  Anyone reading this thread will see clearly that some people resent the fact that they can no longer bully and intimidate minorities in the public sphere....get over it, the rest of us are sick of racist, homophobic, misogynist F*cknuts polluting our society with their intolerant hate lists.

Seasons Greetings one and all!

In 2006, the Seattle–Tacoma International Airport removed all of its Christmas trees in the middle of the night rather than allow a rabbi to put up a menorah near the largest tree display.[104] Officials feared that one display would open the door for other religious displays,[104] and, in 2007, they opted to display a grove of birches in polyethylene terephthalate snow rather than religious symbols or Christmas trees.[104] In 2005, the city of Boston renamed the spruce tree used to decorate the Boston Common a "Holiday Tree" rather than a "Christmas Tree".[105] The name change drew a poor response from the public and it was reversed after the city was threatened with several lawsuits.[106] At the Bilbao airport 2005 displayed a Christmas tree and a Santa Claus and Christmas elf alongside the Basque Olentzero, as a way of syncretising traditions in Northern Spain.
