Going up for the home game against Aberdeen in less than 2 weeks and got a great deal for Friday and Saturday night at the Salutation. Less than £90 for a double b&b which I consider brilliant in this day and age.

Say Hello to Nuggets while your there

You will know which one is him...

No Cafe Rouge in Perth, but try any of the French Restaurants: Cafe Tabou, Breizh, Sante, and Pig Halle all really excellent food and great service.

Had a look at menus - all look just our sort of place (though Cafe Tabou could do with taking down it's Christmas Menu...).  Sent to Mrs Me for her vetting and selection (I go where I am told to go and do what I am told to do.  I can eat what I want - but only if I share...)

Grand Italia is just round the corner from your hotel in George St and is very good. The food is fresh and tasty.

My personal favourite, if your willing to pay a little more, is Let's Eat...... I've not had better in Perth.

If you end up visiting your family in Blair you must try the Sunday Carvary at Strathmore Golf Course- unlimited helpings of meat. Again fantastic

Perth has a new Premier inn which opened in September. Slap bang in the middle of town next to the concert hall across the road from Marks & Spencer. With it just being new I think you will be hard pressed to get anything comparable. You will be close to the shops, bars & restaurants. No taxis required. I think you will easily get a room within your budget

When i was up in Perth they quoted me £ 190 for one nights stay it was the Sunday when the ryder cup was on needless to say didnt stay there.

And the chance you are being web camed by the owner when you are acting a bit frisky with the missus

Maybe that is standard practice in Greece....:) Youd dont own a hotel do you athens?

Back on topic ie restaurants - half way between blair and perth, the ApronStage ( i had to google it) I remember visiting a few years back and it had excellent food - its in Stanley (which doesnt even have a good chippy) so why youd open a restaurant there i dont know, not even sure if its still going. But it was worth a visit, as good as anything in town.

The Parklands hotel on St leonards Bank overlooking the south inch has a very good dining room. Havent stayed overnight in the hotel, but the food is very good

I really wouldn't recommend Harry's. It's pretty nice inside, but the service is appalling, and really, really slow. They specialise in Pizza and Pasta but there are other places in Perth that do it better

Looks like I'm going to have to visit Murrays bakery to try out their Scotch Pies - being best in the country as they have just been voted!

I don't know if I was imagining things but a friend of mine gave me a Murrays pie and although it was microwaved it was crisp like it was straight out the oven

Shit, the rest of the world knows now, bollocks, bollocks, bollocks. Murrays Pies in my suitcase alone have been transported to a few far flung places.

Once had a suitcase going to London alone, with as many Mothers Pride loafes, Murrays pies and Arbroath smokies I could pack in.

I remember when the cafe in Dicksons garage on the Dunkeld Road was one of the first places in town to have a microwave.  It was a big deal to get a microwaved meal there.
