Kilgour
I am still not convinced he has what it takes to move to the very top.H e might yet and might not in the mean time treat your employers and colleagues with respect as you never know when you might need them.If all he wanted to do was wait, simples tell LFC and shut up,not go behind their backs and disclose confidences and advertise your willingness to move. Kilgour
Still have my doubts if they will ever get £50 million for him.He appears to be heading down the same route as a lot of promising young players." Goood ..but not Carling !"
Kilgour
Now behaving like a fud. Gerrard has come out and openly criticised him.He is refusing to go on tour because Liverpool did not accept Citys offer.Kinda like he did not accept Liverpools offer....Oh and calling in sick for pre-season because your relationship with the gaffer has deteriorated is total PANTS. Abernethy Saint
No wonder the guy is named after a currency. There are currently 245.6 Raheems to the pound.
Nuggets
This is just a joke, there is no way in a million years he is worth £49 million.
jazzsaint
Liverpool will be rubbing their hands together with this deal. A decent player Deffo not worth 49 million though.

HOODLUM65
Great money for a clearly discontented player . Liverpool need to spend this money wisely .
gingermunkie
The fee is so inflated because city really need players that will adhere to the "homegrown" quotas for the champions league. They've lost at least two this summer and were already pretty close to not having enough. Realistically there's no-one else out there that they could have got to be close to their first team that would meet the criteria. It's also why they've been linked with Delph. ex-montrosesaintee
He's a great player. This disconcerted nonsense is because he declined a contract extension and has been vilified by Liverpool and the media because they feel there is some god given requirement to be loyal to Liverpool. Brendan Rodgers raided Southampton and said 'that's just football' so why should good players HAVE to be loyal to Liverpool? Steven Gerrard refused a contract extension in 1995 and was convinced to stay, but is now heralded as a loyal one club man, WTF? Very little of the shitstorm has been the player's fault. He'll go on to bigger and better things now.
ex-montrosesaintee
Oh, and £10m goes to QPR btw, and £4m is add-ins, so only £35m goes to Liverpool. The price they paid for Andy Carrol FFS. The QPR thing too - Sterling isn't even the mythical homegrown talent people are treating him like.

Having said that, I think £49m just reflects the current market at the top end of the big leagues. So probably a fair price. PS Gerrard was 15 in 1995

Kilgour
Made his competitive debut last night and Pellegrini thought he was "excellent",I watched the same match ( I think) and thought he was average at best. Two one on ones were both fluffed, huffed and puffed and fell over quite a lot.Alongside Silva he looks like an impostor.Willing to be proved wrong.
