Top Six

Yeah if you have it. That would be interesting stats to review and to know for as long as it's a top 12 league setup and a split.

Theres a tab at the top right to select a season, then a tab at the top of the table to choose a particular date. Split usually occurs at the start of April, although you've sometimes to skip about a bit to get the exact one.

If you look at tables at the time of the split over previous seasons you can maybe gauge the "magic amount", same for the final points totals for teams in 10th.

2014/15 - 6th place: 44pts, 10th place: 37pts

2013/14 - 6th place: 48pts, 10th place: 31pts

2012/13 - 6th place: 44pts, 10th place: 37pts

2011/12 - 6th place: 48pts, 10th place: 32pts

2010/11 - 6th place: 44pts, 10th place: 31pts

We're currently on 32 points. 40 seems to be the target to beat the Play-Offs, while 50 guarantees top six. We've nine games left to play.

Motherwell (H), Partick (A), Aberdeen (A), Partick (H), Ross County (H), Hearts (A), United (H), Killie (A)

To me, we should be looking for 10-15 points from that. Which should be enough for the top half.

LAUGH OUT LOUD this is Saints we are talking about , dont do things easily

I must admit that I'm worried about where our season is heading. I said from day one that I thought that survival would be a success this season but I really hoped that we'd be rebuilding rather than relying on the same, aging core of our team.

Here's the table from this time last year. We were only 2 points better off with a game more played, but the big difference this year is that we're only 6 points above the play-off where we were 16 points clear at the same stage, albeit with an extra game played.

I agree with previous comments saying that Saturday is a must win for us - otherwise we could end up having to play Hibs 3 times this season!

It does show how well we were doing up to the stat of December.  The fact that we have gained 2 points in 7 matches and yet are still only two points behind where we were at this time last season.

... and bear in mind that last season finished as our second highest premier league points total in our history!

and we were undefeated after the split, which will be very hard to repeat.  However, if we can put a run of victories together, we can still cement 4th place before the split IMO.

16th Feb 2014 - Hibs were a weekend win away from leap-frogging us into the top six and 9 points separated them from the play-off..,

I think we have been the victim of our own success ... Qualifying for Europe has been detrimental to our league progress. I feel players aren't given the time to recover from one season to the next.... Only a few weeks between end of the season & then Europa games.

I hate to admit this, but I don't think qualifying for Europe is worth it! It affects us in the league, & one of the games was the equivalent of travelling to New York, costs the club money, & costs the players physically.

I still want to finish as high up as possible tho' ⚽️ :-)

Haha well 5000 - 1 would be very nice indeed, goes to show if you have a good manager and team spirit

I read that last week.and wished I was a gambler.! No doubt there will be a few optimistic fans whos bums will be twitching.! Biggest bet I have ever made was a £100 at even money for us to win the Challenge cup against Dunfermline. After twenty minutes I was wishing I had put more on.! Last five minutes I said nae mair gambing on Saints.!
