Steve Zissou
anyone remember his tackle in the box when Aberdeen best us 4-0 in the league cup semi? Arguably the best saving tackle I've ever seen. I doubt anyone will remember it, as he wasn't playing that day

Arguably the best saving tackle I've ever seen. It was last game of the season, when we won to clinch Europe, but it was a fantastic tackle, if only Ando had been able to do that over the last 10 years

SaintSam1884
TBF Wotherspoon has been absolute shite and deserves most of the comments that have been made. He doesn't like it you say? Tough ****ing shit he needs to man up then.Commenting on a players form on a football forum is one thing, ironically cheering him off during a match is another. blueheaven and Dave Ferg

Yes, yes it is. I understand Spoony is a confidence player but he will never make a decent professional player if he has one good game in five. Mollycoddling him just so he has that one game in five is embarrassing. He is a grown adult, a professional footballer, if he cannot take criticism for having a bad game then he will fall down the leagues, eventually reaching his level. We all know spoony is technically very good which makes it all the more frustrating. Maybe he needs to see a shrink or maybe he needs forced to see a shrink. ex-montrosesaintee
just saying what a lot are thinking. Take it you don't agree ?Wouldn't disagree that Spoony seems to have confidence issues. Glad you think forcing people to go to a shrink is the answer to any problems that might arise. Having seen numerous 'specialists' for low self-esteem, low self-confidence and depression, I can tell you that it isn't a magic overnight solution. Not being told you are a loser who needs help by every high and mighty know it all that comes along does help, however. But then I'm just a depressed loser, so what would I know. dunkeldneil

But then I'm just a depressed loser, so what would I know.see that is the thing, no-one is saying he's a loser, he is in fact a Scottish cup winner. He is however in danger of throwing a decent career away or even furthering his career at a higher level because of his footballing performances which have maybe been due to such issues. Now if it is down to confidence and a lack of, shouldn't Tommy, his friends, his family in fact everyone who cares about the guy have been dealing with this long before now ? We know giving the boy pelters doesn't help but Tommy isn't helping the situation by playing him when he has been awful. Time out is needed. croc and wee john

PauloPerth
Not specific to any of our players, but I am often surprised about how little stock is put in developing players mentally in our game.so often over the years in Scottish football we see players who have outstanding ability but do not succeed because they struggle mentally. If a player has a recurring injury they get sent to see the top specialists, and are given months of one to one physio and rehab. Yet if he has confidence issues he's expected to just man up or he's branded weak mentally, and discarded.football needs to look at British cycling and a fair few other sports to see how much emphasis is placed on sports psychology. SaintJet
Pretty sad that in a huge week for the club all we find to do is disparage players past and present. This nonsense should be kept for the close season.Between this thread and the player thread for the guy we sold to sevco it's all a bit underwhelming. jhq
No he didn't. he was suspendedSorry, my mistake - it was Gary Miller who came on for Brian Easton. I only remember because some rocket behind me nearly had a coronary when the sub was made. We were 4-0 down and he came out with something like "Aye chuck the towel in Wright - we're chasing the game and you take off a winger for a full-back". Eaton a winger - LAUGH OUT LOUD
