south inch Posted July 8, 2021 Report Share Posted July 8, 2021 An experienced referee should have avoided seeing such a close fought encounter settled by a doubtful penalty. Unfortunately there was just enough there for VAR to declare the football equivalent of "umpire's call" so the decision stood. Had the ref waved the claims away that too would have stood. One each in red cards but the Danish guy has the edge for two silly dives. Celtic one up thanks to one of their new signings who by all accounts was their best player but he has nonetheless been subbed to bolster the defence. Should think the odds on Rangers retaining the title have been shortened. Awful pity we were denied the chance to play the Danes because they had drawn Celtic.
