HOODLUM65
The u20's have the same trait as the 1st team. Likely to lose a goal when it's their own corner kick.. Will need to work on their corner routines. McLaren and Hurst stood out in today's game. Though the Pars started the second half the better team, Saints finished quite strongly and at least should have had a share of the spoils. Roll on next season when these young players have more maturity. C.o.y.s. garydavidson

Radford 72
Disappointing season with just the five wins but certainly appears noticeable that the youngest players in their first year full-time have played a lot more football than those of a similar age in past seasons; the full backs Thomson and Lumsden especially who must've played in 90% of the games? Greg Hurst and Aaron Comrie have contracts for next season and will step up to the first team squad and Jason Kerr will surely follow. Decisions have to be made over the rest of the 1997 players: Ben Mackenzie (G) Paul Simpson (M) Connor McLaren (M) Danny Jardine and Greg Page are the only 1998 players in the squad so it'll be a young group of players again next season, unless they supplement it with players from elsewhere. Seems unlikely though with a significant number of the U17s ready to step up I believe. HOODLUM65 and garydavidson

It's actually great to see Saints not giving a **** about league placing and actually using it as a development league. It will be an extremely young team again next season and by the time they're 19-20 they'll have had 2-3 seasons against mostly older boys. Should be great for their development. (3 came on as subs) Jack Wilson from the u17's started alongside Jason Kerr (my M.O.M.) at the heart of the defence. 3 others in the starting line-up are aged 17. Lumsden (tiny right back). Midfielder Alistair Mc Cann, who was fielded at left back and Jamie Docherty a small forward with a big shot. Old head on young shoulders, reads the game well, good passer of the ball, made a difference to the team when he came on for the second half at 0-3 down. Not overplayed in the u20's by the coaches, who appear to rotate the team to give a few of the youngsters experience. 2 fixtures remaining, both away. (Dundee United and Dunfermline.) A fine eye you've got there... Interesting that McCann seemed to play multiple different positions for the youth sides, looking back this thread.
