Abernethy Saint
Beaston, wasn't it? Fair putting himself about anyway, marshalling the defence and all the rest. Surely his to lose, then. tucker
Edstar101
It was Easton. Wouldn't be my choice however

TheYellowBox
I'd actually suggest none of the players this season. Do it on a round robin basis. 2 reasons why though. 1. I think none of them alone are necessarily a captain in my eyes. Not because I don't think any of them are capable, but because there are so many who do the job anyway. They all sort of keep each other in check. 2. Very few are a nail on to play every week. Only Ando, Easton and Joe are likely to start each week they are fit. Joe for me seems too quiet. Ando doesn't seem to be a captain in the managers eyes and Easton I think might get replaced at left back before long. For what it is worth, I think it will be Easton. Dave H
No,has to be someone who will play most games. Aye. True. Just had the credentials at Yinited. Could be him and Muzz in middle of park all season though... The creativity coming from the flanks.
HOODLUM65
Ando shirks the limelight and doesn't want the armband. It's Millar for me if he's gonna be fit. Beastie might be a good guy but not a Capitano. Which brings us to Paton who was Skipper in his Thistle days and might make him feel more accepted at the club. I'll leave the problem with Tommy. Abernethy Saint
Are there any teams anyone knows that don't do a "club captain" thing and just appoint on a week to week basis? Curious that this is being allowed to drag on. There are some functions within clubs that usually fall to captains, and there's the PR issue. sconesjfc
The big problem is, Paton is not very good and cannot see him get a look in once Millar is fit. Davidson, Millar and McLean would all be good for it if they weren't on the sidelines all the time. What about Joe the throw?

Abernethy Saint
"Captain Ando, Indestructable!" Slight surprise, but easy to get behind. Might lift his first trophy in a matter of weeks!
ex-montrosesaintee
He didn't stand out as the obvious candidate for me, due to his quiet nature, and yet i'm absolutely delighted that he has been handed the job. Football would be a better place all round if there were more players with an attitude like Ando. Melbourne Saint
Great call TW! Always had a soft spot for him since the game he played RB/CH vs Raith and scored. Was never sure what position he was- wandered everywhere. A decision that will keep the dressing room happy too... Guest ScottMann
Was surprised to read that Midge and Beaston remain joint Vice Captains, partly because I never realised they were. You'd think one of the roles of the VC was to take over from the Captain when he went so I wonder why Ando leapfrogged them both and why he wasn't a VC before. No criticism, just curious. RandomGuy
It wouldn't surprise if they'd asked the squad for who they wanted as captain, and they all agreed on Ando. I think a captains role for us is more just the most respected one, more than a player who has to keep other players on their toes, as the squad seems to manage itself pretty much.
