We were at the game. Half empty, with lots of cynicism mostly directed at Mulgrew and Naismith (until he scored). McGinn had a few howlers in the second half and maybe should have been taken off. It was a relief to come away with a win, but we should be thrashing these sorts of teams and werent able to.

Agreed, although listening to McCliché Albania are a footballing super power.

i was hoping that the start of a new tournament with a good chance of making it would help but nope. weather didnt help and i had a few rangers fans behind giving abuse to Griffiths (normally fine but not when hes wearing a scotland top) . we played well and did enough to get the win but we didnt learn from fri night making stupid mistakes

Yes Ferguson and McGregore banned for life when Burley was manager. Didn't see anything to say the ban had been lifted. Mind you my man had life bans from certain hostelries in Perth which were "forgotten" after a couple of years...espcially if the manager changed.

Just announced: staying at Hampden.

Can anyone explain how this affects Queens Park? I haven't seen much said about that. Do they now have to take their money and find somewhere else to play, or will they continue to play there and pay rent to the SFA as tenannts?

Read somewhere that they would develop Lesser Hampden.  Would not need much to cope with their crowds.

Speaking to this guy today, he said why is McGregor playing in goal for yous, i said why not, he said because him and Ferguson got life bans, could not argue wae him, was the ban rescinded????

That is a very good point, had totally forgotten about that.

It does seem he was going to be re-called quite soon after that ban was issued according to his wiki page.

Managed to find this: https://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/141224/Barry-Ferguson-and-Allan-McGregor-return-to-Scotland

It seems it was over when they changed manager.

"Express understands that any of these players will be considered again but they would have to make a public apology to the Tartan Army and show a willingness that they want to play for their country.

It has brought a change in stance since the ban on McGregor and Ferguson was announced although Smith has insisted it was never a lifetime ban.

‘’ We never said they wouldn t be chosen again ‘’  Smith insisted. ‘’It was never said it was a life ban.’’"

They are to play at Lesser Hampden, which they’ve done for long spells in the past. Presumably they’ll use some of the dosh to do it up a bit.

So do Queens Park own Lesser Hampden then? I wasn't sure if it would be included in what the SFA just bought, given that it's on the surrounding Hampden land/grounds.

Errrr no, not unless Saints were signing 5 year olds. His connections (non-playing) were mainly with Celtic. Decent guy by all accounts.

"In any way related" - nephew, 2nd cousin.  Our WH was a decent player but he was certainly more than 5 when he set Joe Carr up for a goal in the cup against Aberdeen.

Jamie McDonald drafted into Scotland squad.

Has he had 4 clean sheets any time this season ?.

Just posted in the Zander thread about this, had not checked here.

Tommy said he is disappointed. A familiar statement from him when talking about Scotland.
