It was like watching St Johnstone last night especially with no subs til 75th minute when basically the same team has played 3 games in just over a week.

That result against Germany showed how bad we were when they struggled against Swiss and Hungary.

McGreger supposedly the best midfielder in Scotland was honking in all 3 games. Last night he kept on passing back when there were forward passes on. Kept losing possession , misdirecting passes and won 1 tackle all night.

Shankland should have been on from the start. Adams is a very limited footballer who has just scored twice in 19 games or something. I think Shankland has scored two in 19 odd minutes.

It was also calling out for pace and Forrest was on the bench.

We had 2 subs standing on you touchline waiting to come on and there were at least 2 breaks in play and they still didn't come on.

Everything was wrong last night ,team selection, tactics and the last 10 minutes nearly every player in their wrong position.

Yeah, what happened to our big game players? They all failed to turn up.

I normally rate McGregor but he was way off it. McGinn was a big let down, as was Robertson.

These guys are all captains and presumably have leadership qualities, so why did none of them show that?

There must be a reason for it, and more often than not, it's down to the coaching at some level.

With ten minutes to go, the fans were singing "get intae them". That's what we wanted. Yeah we might go out, but at least give it a go.

With Hungary being ordinary, it was the best chance we've had to progress for a long time.

The squad might be lacking in quality, there's not much you can currently do about that, but there's no excuse for not having a workable, positive plan and a winning mentality to go with it.

Set up and think like a small, underdog team and that's what you'll get.

No belief.

It's exactly the kind of problem we've had at Saints for the past few years.

Agree with most people here, this tournament has been very like watching Levein’s Scotland, no width, over crowded midfield, all of whom have under performed.  Only fair to point out the team that did so well over the past 2 years, and they did, are missing.  Lewis Ferguson, Kieran Tierney, Aaron Hickey, Lyndon Dykes, would all have started in at least 2 games.  We cannot cope with losing 4 players.

The Forrest thing is so frustrating, why do managers do that?  Blindingly obvious we needed width and pace as the clock ticks down, then why only give Shankland 15mins?  How did McGregor survive a raft of changes and stay on the park after yet another indifferent  performance?

Penalty? Meh! Hungry carved out more and better chances than Scotland, the goal was the best play of the game.

Good result tonight, and when all is said and done, finishing 3rd in that group isn't bad. That loss against Poland that should've been a win really did for us, and we'd be in 2nd place otherwise.

Good end of the campaign, and sets up a play off. Georgia, Greece, Austria and Wales are the options.

I think Clarke is doing a decent job, but I have two issues (it's not Ralston because actually he's the best option we have there), but Hanley and Shankland? McKenna and Hendry are far better. Also, Nisbet is in form, Conway seems ok. Shankland looks way off SPFL levels this season, let alone international. Actually looks unfit.

Did Perth Scotland fans going to the game last night manage to get out of Perth? Queues at Broxden were horrendous late afternoon but hope they made it (but perhaps wished they had not bothered given result)

Fridays at Broxden have been like that for years.

I remember sitting in massive queues, at least two decades ago, stretching back to the turn off at Friarton.

Is it just me that thinks it's insane for international teams to be playing friendlies at this time of year? What a massive waste of time and energy for everyone involved, when they should be on holiday.

If it was up to me I'd dramatically strip back the international football calendar and get rid of a huge load of this stuff.
