perthandproud
All this dugout talk got me to thinking its been a long time since a Saints manager has actually been sacked. John Connolly (2004–05) Owen Coyle (15 April 2005 – 21 Nov 07) Derek McInnes (27 Nov 2007 – 18 Oct 11) Steve Lomas (3 Nov 2011 – 6 Jun 13) Tommy Wright (10 Jun 2013 –) just over 14 years is pretty good going. sleepless
real shame about JC. I thought it was a great appointment at the time - Saints legend and he had done really well at QoS. It felt like the perfect appointment. Agree with Sixties and Dunc - he'll always be a legend here. blueheaven and sixties saintee

I'm too young to remember Connolly as a player but always quite liked him and personally at the time I felt he could have been given a little longer. Can't really argue with the decision in hindsight though, when you see how far we've progressed since then. I think most would agree that since then we've got every managerial appointment right. There can't be many other clubs who could say that.
south inch
What made the Connolly episode more difficult to bear was that you could not hope to meet a nicer guy. sleepless

I still want to know how he beat us to the Sally on Wednesday night games.
