Looks like it'll be just Williams and Willock Personally, I'll be delighted if we're not taking Scott Wright. We absolutely shouldn't be developing players for clubs who are direct rivals to ourselves. Felt the same about O'Halloran - he made his bed when he accepted the Sevco shilling. Went well for him - let him lie in it. And the nonsense about Swanson? Even Lennon says he's unfit - why would we want to take on an out of shape guy who wouldn't want to be here anyway? Crazy. The other two? Absolutely.

Higher placed means more money, means we can identify targets and have the money to get them in the summer. Also gives our youngsters time to be ready for first team action. While at the same time giving a player from another team in our league the opportunity to develop his game / get fit / get know our players, then come back and bite us at a later date after he goes back to his own club? Yep. Great strategy. Cagey

We need to think about the remainder of this season and staying in the league before we worry about future seasons.
ss75990
The silence from McDiarmid Park is painful, and even more worrying when rumours are starting to come out of players we were meant to be signing now not looking likely. PauloPerth
I think we must be saving them all for one big press launch 'Saints send shock waves round Scottish football with incredible treble signing' type thing. cristo
Templar Saint
Signing young players is all well and good, even on loan, but the manager has got to start selecting them and our own young players or else it is just a waste of money. Yes but that's a two way thing. Supporters also have to realise that it takes a while to bed in youngsters and shape a team, and we might not get the results/ success we've become used to over the past few seasons. As long as we have the patience for that. Out of the 14 players used on Monday night, 9 were 25 or under. Add to that Scougall and Clark who are also both 25 years old and regular starters, and you realise that the age profile of the squad is coming down. And, slowly but surely, they are getting introduced to the starting line up compared to previous seasons.

The youngsters during TW's reign have not had much opportunity when he has been relying on the old guard. Monday was an exception - one swallow does not make a summer. Kyle
I think it's a bit of a myth that Tommy doesn't give young players a chance. If they don't perform they tend to drop out quickly though. Gilchrist, Brown, Thomson and Caddis all had chances (quite a lot - must be close to 100 appearances between them I'd imagine) and all underperformed or didn't progress as expected. May, Kane, Gordon, Kerr, McClean, Clark, Hurst and now McCann have all have minutes and are either part of the squad or have been sold on for cash. 2 of the prospective new signings are 21 or 22 as well. Saintdunc
Derby County's former Cheltenham Town winger Luke Thomas is set for a loan move to Scottish Premiership club St Johnstone. The 18-year-old has been in fine form for the Rams' Under-23 side this season and made his first team debut as a substitute against QPR, which earned the Robins £25,000.
