He has been treated appallingly by the club, I would definitely want to be at an employer where I felt wanted. Thank God for his goals. Quote

I thought Devine and Muller both looked pretty good at times and in the right circumstances I reckon they could have done well for us. But inexperienced players like that just weren't equipped for the shit-show that our season was going to become and were never going to be what we needed. Even more so Dendoncker who arrived at a time when we were in an absolute mess. A kid like that was never going to come in and make a difference. We seriously need to up our game in the transfer market this summer, but if we weren't able to do that when we were the double-winners offering European football, crap knows how we're going to do it when we're either favourites to go down or already down. pezza70, Shaggy Jenkins and Coltrane 3 Quote

They tried last Summer, as you know, to make sure what went on was never repeated. A specialist brought in to help Davidson prepare for windows 6+ months in advance. Davidson successfully got him sacked and the whole system scrapped. So aye, we're exactly where we were 12 months ago. No planning for the Summer window because the manager is focusing on the games and doesn't have time to look for players. Quote

The bit I don’t get it: the Chairman brings in the specialist, the specialist resigns (I’m not sure he was sacked) presumably because of in-fighting or power struggles. Why doesn’t the chairman care that Davidson did this? We know he didn’t have a great relationship with Tommy, so what’s the difference this time which means that throughout all this time, the Chairman says nothing? Quote

You'd hope Steve Brown would clarify it after Monday, but I think he relies on Scott Boyd to deal with the footballing side of things. A man who's avoided a remarkable amount of criticism despite Kirsten Robertson getting absolutely slaughtered weekly on here. Linky 1 Quote

What I'd love to know is: Was Davidson consulted on the decision to bring in a specialist to help with transfers? If so, did he object at the time? Did Davidson have final approval on our signings? What's the strategy for finding and attracting players going forward (beyond phoning Millwall and asking who's not getting a game and fancies a few months in Scotland). Quote

I don't know the answer to the first two, but Davidson had the final say on all incoming transfers. Quote

I think both CD and the HOR shoulder this to be honest. It feels like little to no actual homework was done on these guys barring a quick hilight reel, some 'monyball' spreadsheet and a quick look at football manager....he then sees them in the flesh and there is major work to do on them or they just don't fit at all. We have paid good money for these guys, did anyone actually see them in the flesh regulary, speak to folk around the game etc etc. We basically bought cars from autotrader sight unseen. blueheaven 1 Quote

Summer window was a disgrace and January a disaster as well as costing us a load of money with no return. Quote

I don't see how either could've watched many in the flesh, even Hallberg due to his injuries. Was told you need 6+ months to evaluate players and understand what you're getting. Quote

Do we ever spend that length of time evaluating players and dose the evaluating? Or does CD state what position he needs filled and we accept who we think is the best available on a free Quote

If he repeats how he approached the 3 windows he was doing this role, before he got help for the January window, he'll condense all that into a phone call to Gary Rowett or Allan Preston. Quote
