Not give away.  Reward loyal customers.
But this is a windfall that would not have been in the budget so the club will not be maximising their amount the make but will still have extra funding.

we could have drawn Motherwell St Murray so would have a lot less from this game.

Yes, but draw a ‘Well or St Mirren and you’re looking at a reasonable chance of a trip to Hampden and the windfall from that.

Because it's a Cup game, Celtic would have to agree to making any changes like that I believe. They're due half the money from every ticket sale so it's unlikely they'd be up for it really.

It overlaps with the English League Cup final. Was just wondering if anyone knew of a decent non-Old-Firm Scottish pub.

Is it not the case that it's not being shown on TV though?

Scottish pubs in London that are committed to showing Scottish football are pretty hard to come by to be honest - even the Rob Roy at Paddington (now shut down I believe), which was supposedly a Tartan Army haunt, had a preference for showing English matches over Scottish ones. Last few times I've tried to watch Saints games in central London, the pubs have often not shown the games even when they've advertised that they are - and then when you ask them to show a Scottish match they look at you like you have two heads. The only two places I've found that are semi-reliable are Sports Bar & Grill, which is inside Waterloo Station up the stairs (they'll sometimes put the Saints game on a screen if you contact them in advance to request it), and the sports bar inside the Carlsberg casino in Leicester Square (weird place, but actually OK for watching football).

Just wondering if it would be a bit of good PR for the club if they let out season ticket holders in for free for this game?

As season ticket holders are being displaced from the east stand for the OF games and are a bit disgruntled.

We should make a killing from the Celtic fans that would not have been in the budget even at the start of the year.

Think with it being a Scottish cup match the ticket prices have to wither be agreed by both clubs or be at the standard gate price given by the SFA.

A well no hospitality for SLF then.

Give Away/Reward...let in for free...

So...do you want a windfall £50k?...nah, you're all-right.

That's 2/3 of a player (ish)...probable another one with the Celtic supporters.

We can't moan about lack of pre-contracts/contract extensions then do things like that.

Nope, just nope. Fvck right off saints. I can just about get on board giving up home advantage for the league games, but for the cup? Chance to do something different here, but SB shat it and gave up any home advantage whatsoever. I'd have been happy if we had even shared the ormond or something and made it cheep and filled the saints end.

Mind in 2014 when we won a wad of cash and we celebrated for ages after? No me either, I want a cup and if it means taking a financial hit and playing in a half empty stadium in a QF to do that, then bring it on.

And at £25 a ticket? If we give up home advantage, max out on the ticket prices, otherwise make it cheep and fill the home end.

At least it will help pay for the plastic pitch next season.....

Saints didn't decide the prices.

Livingston have the best home record against the OF this season, yet give up the highest percentage of their stadium to away fans of any team.

Folk pulling excuses out their arse not to attend Saints games is the reason this is even a discussion.

Nonsense. So who did decide the prices? Both clubs have to agree and if they cannot, it defaults to the league prices, which saints set.

On Livi, they have the best home record mainly because of the pitch. They are outnumbered by most away teams.

It's not making excuses to to go to games. The reality is that our 'core' has dropped from 3-4k, to 1,500ish. Folk aren't going to stop because of fans getting moved stands, but it plays into the wider narrative of fans having been taken granted for years. I've a season ticket, but never enjoy games vs the OF and totally get giving up stands for league games. But, for the cup, I think we should make everything as uncomfortable as possible for them and that means less fans.

If we follow the logic of maximising revenue, why dont we give them the whole stadium and we take the ormond?

Hamilton have a plastic pitch but have the worst record against the OF in the past few seasons, folk really need to get over this idea the plastic pitch is some magical superpower that makes you unbeatable at home.

Because theres not enough seats there for home fans, and they want to keep hospitality guests away from OF fans.

For the past decade Celtic/Rangers have been given seats in 3 stands (Main, North, Ormond), I'm not entirely sure why folk have suddenly decided giving them seats in 3 stands (East, North, Ormond) is the point that it becomes a disgrace, or the point where it becomes a massive on pitch disadvantage. I'm even less sure why its made people give up on Saints and claim theyll stop attending games.

If people are getting so worked up over a plastic seat they sit in twice a month, then I'm not sure the clubs the one with the issue.

Well put Randoom. Choose one perspective and moan or another and get on with it.
