50yrs a Saint
Admin - apologies as this is not directly Football Club related I am a member of the Board of Trustees of The St Johnstone Community Trust (Saints in the Community) and togther with others was going to be raising funds for them by completing the Dundee Kiltwalk in August this year. Due to the Coronavirus crisis the event has been cancelled but has been replaced with a Virtual Kiltwalk over the weekend of 3rd to 5th July. Over that weekend I will be walking 25 miles around the Viewlands, Oakbank, Cherrybank and Western Edge areas if Perth. Others are completing their own challenges. The St Johnstone Community Trust are a stand-alone charity based in Perth & Kinross. Using the draw of football, programmes are provided which promote physical activity, education and better health and wellbeing. Their projects include, but are not limited to: Recreational and Developmental Football for kids School Education programmes on Racism and Healthy Eating Unemployment programmes for young adults Multi-sports activities for adults with learning disabilities Football for adults with Mental Health & Wellbeing struggles Walking Football for older adults Football Memories for adults living with dementia At this time, the charity finds themselves in a very challenging financial situation due to their income-generating activities being put on pause. In spite of this, the charity recently launched their Give & Go: Community Support initiative to provide assistance to those in need during the COVID-19 pandemic. https://dundeekiltwalk2020.everydayhero.com/uk/st-johnstone-community-trust Please visit our page and consider a donation to the Trust.
