The SPFL have said the game will go ahead.

Aberdeen fans saying McKenna, Devlin, Ojo, Bryson, McGeouch, Ferguson, Kennedy and Anderson are the 8 who'll be missing. Plus Considine who was suspended.

SFA and spfl have been known to changing their minds and ina LL honesty this will be a decision at the end of the day that the Scottish Government could take.

What about the risk to our players?  Cannot see this game being played.

Again, the SPFL "joint response group", responsible for Scottish football during Covid, have confirmed the game will be going ahead, barring another outbreak being identified in their squad tomorrow.

It's not the fault of Saints or the SPFL if Aberdeen players decide to go out on the Randan.

If they were celebrating summat , they could have arranged a private do, thus lessening the risk of infection.

Therefore, if they have players out due to recklessness on the players part, TOUGH

GAME ON.

I’m pretty sure it will.  Remember all players will be tested before the game so no reason not too

Were they not all tested on Tuesday and found to be negative?

Wait until Nicola sleeps on it!  The" joint response group" will be told to go and raffle themselves.

As much as Id like the game to go ahead with Aberdeen missing so many key players, this just shouldnt go ahead. Those players that tested positive must surely have been deemed in contact with the whole first team squad. Thats how it works isnt it. Our players are then at risk.

Further to tonight’s JRG statement, Aberdeen FC confirms that two first team players, who have tested positive for COVID-19 but are asymptomatic, are self-isolating for ten days.

In line with government guidance and procedures from the football authorities, six other players, who were in close proximity with the two positive cases, are also self-isolating for 14 days.

The Club has been in open discussions with the football authorities since this came to light.

As a result, the Club will be missing eight players for the St Johnstone game, which the JRG has confirmed will now go ahead on Saturday.

AFC Chairman, Dave Cormack, said: “After Saturday’s game, with all eyes on Pittodrie, we were once again commended on the stringent processes and measures we had in place. Given the efforts of everyone at the Club and our investment in protecting our most valuable assets, this is a bitter blow.

“With two first team players testing positive for COVID-19, plus six others having to isolate for 14 days, it is also a harsh reminder of the severity and speed of spread of this virus.

“The Club will be carrying out a full investigation but, as an immediate first step, we have reinforced the Club’s COVID-19 protocols and the governing bodies’ guidance with every player and member of staff and will continue to regularly educate and remind everyone of what is, and what is not, acceptable in the current climate.

“We now have to focus on preparing for Saturday’s game

I would think all associated with Aberdeen fc will have undergone more stringent testing for cov19 throughout the day and those who travel through for the game on Saturday will pose no risk to others. I work in an environment where the virus has taken many lives and know first hand the measures the health board/government take to try an curb this epidemic. I don't believe for one minute this game would go ahead if there is even the slightest risk to others. I get tested every week now (7 times so far and it's brutal)  professional footballers are tested twice a week. Reputedly 8 players out on the ran dan on a Saturday night, yet Aberdeen fc claim that all players and staff were instructed to remain in their directed "cov19 bubble"
