So we carry on the way we are going with games cancelled at the last minute because a doorman or physio or anyone remotely connected to a club tests positive.

So we struggle through to half way through the season with clubs losing £thousands on testing & wasted arrangements for games & the virus closes the season with Rangers ahead  on goal difference. Rangers will demand the league to stop 10 in a row.

There are a lot of banana skins along the way.

I am beginning to agree with Hearts that SPFL are not fit for purpose. That should have set out rules to cover most eventually.

It is incredible that we are all facing these issues with the Premiership matches where players are being tested twice weekly , and low and behold we have youth and amateur football teams expecting to be given the go ahead to start playing friendlies in September and leagues resuming in October.  Despite the fact taht managers will still have to remain 2 metres physically distanced and wont be able to administer first aid.

We still have a long way to go until we get to the new norm.

I read with interest that Gordon Smith former SFA supremo is making noises about teams foreiting points in the future if they break the goverment guidlines. That's fine, but what about the clubs who have broken these guidlines now?

If someone goes down within the Kilmarnock team set up in the next week all hell will break loose.

No wonder we have no respect for Doncaster or these clueless idiots who run our game.

Yep, that's a big issue now I think - they've set a precedent of basically doing nothing and dishing out no punishment. How can they now change that without creating an imbalance? I find it mind-boggling that they weren't prepared for what to do in this scenario.

It's making me wonder how English football was able to return without similar issues. I can't help but wonder if their players were doing the same things, but either the players or the clubs were doing a better job at keeping it covered up.

I agree Doncaster is a clueless idiot but Gordon Smith is not exactly a Mastermind Champion either.  Its not the clubs who have broken the guidelines, its a few moronic players which is not quite the same thing.  If a club was responsible for a cancellation, for example by making a mess of testing, then fair enough dock them points.  How much responsibility, however, can they reasonably be expected  to accept for the actions of their players?  Most clubs will have at least one or two players on their books who are trying to be wits but have only got half way there.

Celtic now know they have two prize lulus to worry about and if they have any sense they will not allow either one near their 1st team squad for the foreseeable.  Easy for them with the size of their squad.  But who knows where the next indiscretion will come from?  Look at the Kent cricketer who, after scoring a double century, forgot himself and posed for pictures with young fans breaking the social distancing rules in the process.t

Penalising clubs points for their players' actions would require clear guidelines, a disciplinary panel and an appeals process.  The threat of postponements and a fixtures backlog should be enough to make clubs crack the whip.  Celtic's 10 in a row must already be on a shoogly nail.  Making them play the rearranged fixtures without the offending players could be considered, its not too late for that.

So according to the latest JRG statement they will announce tomorrow the punishments that they will be giving to the players that have broken the rules.

Where do they start and stop. Aberdeen players and Bonangoli ( already been fined by the police) are certainties but what about the rangers players that played ina friendly without any test results and what about Leigh Griffiths?

Starting to dish out retrospective penalties opens a complete can of worms.

Agree but you know it's not going to happen.

It will be interesting to hear what the punishments are.  One point about your list of offenders, it wasn't the Rangers' players who broke the rules it was the club who sent them out to play without waiting for the results.

The ugly sisters almost always get away scot free or can take action to avoid consequences.  It is reported today that Bolingoli is already half way out the door, to France of all places!

Hope he doesn't fly out to negotiate a deal or he will be in quarantine for another 2 weeks.

Yep rangers should have been fined

SPFL Disciplinary hearing against the 8 Dons players and Celtic one has been opened - hearing set for 28th which does us feck all good.

So we play them & about a week later they are up in front of beaks who are said to be considering a 2 to 10 game ban ,so again Saints get a raw deal. Can't see them getting bans when it was never on the cards & if it was they probably won't have gone to pub.

Again SPFL should have had rules in place.

Don't understand why the usual procedure of handing out bans and then inviting the players to accept them has not been followed.  After all they have all admitted their guilt and received fines.  Can't see the players making a fuss unless the bans were draconian.

Sounds like the SFA feel the need for a show trial to keep the SG happy in which case the unfairness to us would not be considered. Assuming it crossed anybody's mind in the first place!

Saints have never been mentioned in any of it.

I don't think the fast track process can be used for anything off the field of play. These are incidents that happened before there was any rules in place. I am sure the lawyers from both Aberdeen and Celtic will find a way of picking massive holes in the use of retrospective rules.

A bit of bolting the stable door after the horse has bolted by the SFA.
