Did well, too.

They also ended the business of Scottish Cup runners-up getting in if the winners were already qualified. That was due to a string of diddy teams qualifying and doing rather less well. Helped the coefficient a lot.

They did- didn't they give Bayern Munich a run for their money?

Just a thought... Do you think Saints should/ could offer a 1-off final live feed for those that have not got Saints TV/ SkySports? Say, £10??? Or do Sky have exclusive rights? Expect they do...

Sell a “co-commentary” raffle. £25 a ticket. Winner gets to go and sit in the booth and get excited on the mic

Knocked out two even diddier teams, then drawn against the mighty Bayern. Lost at home 2-0, and 2-1 away. However, at half-time in the away leg, this was the scoreboard. One of the most iconic pictures in Scottish football history.

I went to the home leg (which was played at Easter Road). Incredible night, and from memory there was a huge crowd. I think this was a bit before the days when the big clubs started to send out a second string for games like this, and Bayern had guys like Kahn, Ziege, Herzog and Klinsmann in their starting line-up, and brought Jean-Pierre Papin off the bench. Raith did themselves proud though and played very well. Almost (but not quite) rivals seeing Saints play Monaco. :)

Raith actually went on to finish 6th in the Premier League that season so were no pushovers at the time.

Anyway, I'll stop taking the thread off-topic now.

I take its the Europa league & not the champions league. In that case it would be 4th in the league as 3rd would already be in it.

No definatly says Scottish cup winners go into Europa league play offs.

It will be Rangers that win the league & probably the cup so 3rd in the league gets that Europa place which would mean 4th & 5th places get the other places.

We could get top 6 but not top 5.

The Scottish Cup place would go to third.  Third place euro spot would go to fourth, fourth to fifth and fifth to sixth.  Remember there’s a new competition next season.

We get one in the Europa League, straight into the Play-Off round. Supposed to be Cup Winners, presumably would be 3rd if the cup is abandoned (or if the cup is won by the champions).. The other two places are in the new Euro Conference thingy, entering in the 2nd & third qualifying rounds I think. So fifth placed team gets Europe. Benefits of the improved coefficient coming through.

Apparently we get an even better deal if certain teams win the CL or EL this season or something. All terribly complicated. But it means we may not yet be out of contention for a place in Europe. Broon will be gutted.

Probably better win tomorrow, though.

Feb 20th is Scottish cup weekend. We'll either be playing Dundee in the delayed 3rd round game or, I imagine, we'll bring the Hamilton game forward from the 27th.

We have Livi on Feb 6th.

They've moved a Motherwell game up to the 20th instead.
