Saints Greatest Managerial Achievements

Thought it would be interesting to look at Managerial achievements here, as there is a well deserved separate Team one.

My 1st recollection of Saints Managers was Johnny Pattillo, (2/53-5/58), who had a 45% success rate in the old B Division or Div.2.

Subsequent Managers' were :-

Bobby Brown 38%

Willie Ormond 42%

Jackie Stewart 25%b

Jim Storrie 27%

Alex Stuart 30%

Alex Rennie 41%

Ian Gibson 47%

Alex Totten 43 %

John McLelland 24%

Paul Sturrock 46%

Sandy Clark 31%

Billy Stark 42%

John Connolly 36%

Owen Coyle 51%

Derek McInnes 41%

Steve Lomas 36%

Tommy Wright 40.67%

Callum Davidson 41.67%

Haven't included caretaker Managers.

Owen Coyle tops the list at 51%.

Some of the stats are a surprise, thereagain not all were in the Top league.

You can't really compare win % across divisions. Otherwise John Connolly is neck-and-neck with Steve Lomas, who got us to third in the league!

That's why my last sentence stated not all were in the top league.

I thought you would have deduced from that , some were in the lower leagues.

Can't really take anything from those stats without context, but Ian Gibson having the second-highest percentage is a bit of a surprise.

Sandy Clark's percentage being so low really demonstrates just how dramatically our results dropped under him, given that he started with two really strong seasons here.
