Never at any point did the Club say they had broken their wage structure

I did not say we had broken their wage structure. I am sorry if I mislead you, I was saying he was one St Johnstone's high earners

It was not last minute it was halfway through the window and "Saints boss Tommy Wright moved quickly to secure the services of the winger after he left Australian A-League side Melbourne City."(Daily record)

I was beginning to doubt myself so waisted some time on the net

My last word on the subject

Common sense says, would have signed for less money on your expiring contract. It was reported we pushed the boat out to get him in the January transfer window on his return from Melbourne when a number of clubs were interested. Tommy wanted him.

Also reported other teams interested before he re-signed a few weeks ago

Yeah his last contract was seemingly large, but by all accounts he took a hefty wage cut this Summer in exchange for the security of a 2 year deal.

Saints playing an Aberdeen side tomorrow at Cormack park scheduled originally for 6pm with Aberdeen playing Reading at lunch time as well.

Reading game now off due to COVID so suspect saints may now be against a stronger Aberdeen side.

Any Live TV ?

The Dons produced a strong display and dominated for large periods of the game  but could not find a way past a very well organised St Johnstone backline as the teams played out a goalless draw in very hot conditions at Cormack Park.

Such was the heat in Aberdeen, there was a drinks break midway though both halves for the players. Despite this good teams showed very impressive fitness and energy levels.

Aberdeen started strongly, keeping good possession of the ball and playing at a high intensity. An intensity that rarely dropped throughout the 90 minutes.

Christian Ramirez had the first shot on target of the game when he got onto Jack Gurr’s clipped ball forward but Zander Clark had his angles spot on.

Gurr, who was providing some great deliveries from the right, produced a good corner into the box which was headed back across goal by Jay Emmanuel-Thomas but the St Johnstone defence were able to clear before an Aberdeen player was able to convert.

A minute later, Gurr produced another decent set play, this time a free-kick, which picked out Andy Considine but he just headed over from 12 yards out.

The game was being played at a very high tempo and there were also some very meaty challenges going in.

Both Stevie May and Callum Hendry were keeping the Dons defenders on their toes. Overall the Dons backline produced a strong defensive display.

After a good little spell from the visitors, the Dons were looking strong towards the end of the half and Jonny Hayes produced a great deep cross into the box which Ramirez kept alive. However, JET was just unable to get onto the end of the cut back and St Johnstone were able to clear.

Aberdeen then put a couple of nice moves together with Hedges heavily involved but Kerr and McCart were alert to the danager. Then on the stroke of half time Lewis Ferguson got up really well but headed just over.

The Dons started the second half with the same XI who had started the game and Hayes again broke forward from the left but his clipped ball into the box was turned over the bar.

Hayes was looking very good down the left and was unlucky with a number of balls he whipped across the area. On one occasion Funso Ojo made a good late run into the area and his header was deflected just wide.

The energetic Gurr produced another good set play which was met by the head of JET but leaning back he couldn’t quite keep his header under the bar.

After the drinks break in the second half, Aberdeen made four changes with Connor McLennan, Teddy Jenks, Jack MacKenzie and Calvin Ramsay all coming on.

The changes made an immediate impact and Jenks’ reverse pass sent McLennan scampering forward but he was just unable to pick out Ramirez with a cut back and the away side were able to clear. All the subs impressed.

Despite the high heat, the Dons kept playing at a high intensity and neat interplay between Ferguson and Ramsay gave the right back a sight at goal but Elliott Parish was able to save well with his feet.

Ramsay threatened next again but was thwarted by the Saints Defence.

As The Dons pushed for a winner, Scott Brown had a chance late on with a snapshot from the edge of the box but Parish produced an excellent low diving save to tip the ball wide.

Dons report.

I wonder if we will get a report from Saints.

Lack of communication again this season.

Looks like we played a few of our back up players against what looks like Dons  starting 11.

Not sure what our formation was but surprised if Callum changed it.

When did we ever get saints reports on closed door games?

Anyone who has ever read a report on the Aberdeen website will know to take talk of their dominance with a pinch of salt.

Pre-season ticking over nicely for Saints after the disrupted nature of last year, when we only got two games.

Europe will be hard but we should be much better prepared than ever before.

According to Scott brown few hefty tackles went in nae doubt started by him.

Yeah sounds very much like he is trying to justify tackles he put in before anything is written. Can see him getting a few sending offs this season. The way the article is written I wouldnt be surprised if we played a lot of our loans etc. and not so much first team in the second half. Washing machine at McD must be on the blink, wearing the 19/20 home top with some Macron branded blue shorts. Not sure why they couldnt wear the away kit that we barely wore last year. Maybe just wearing old kit up and saving the yellow for this season since we need 3.

There is a reason they are behind  closed doors.

Most other clubs give reports on closed doors, hence Aberdeen yesterday & Rangers on their 6_0 thumping of our under 18,therefore our fans not getting a balanced view.

Do you want a report on every match the squad plays between themselves in training aswell?

You are just getting ridiculous now.

You will know better than most what other sites are like.

Communication is poor.

Agree communication is very poor. I got a ticket in the ballot for Preston game but didn’t get it and have still never seen anything from club to me explaining why not. I know that tickets were available in my circumstance at the ticket office but I didn’t see that until near kick off.

There is nothing about the game next week, nothing about the game yesterday although Aberdeen have a report and team etc.

Why are Saints so poor at the basics.

Whoever is in charge of media etc needs to wake up and promote Saints or if not capable then get someone else to do it because at the moment it is just hopeless.

I want to be kept up to date.
