Charlie Gilmour is 22. Sent out on loan to the lower tiers when it's clear he's not good enough, then brought back into the fold. Nothing but praise from the manager.

Eetu Vertainen is 22. Given a couple of games then publicly slaughtered by the manager. Isn't being allowed to be loaned to a lower tier even though the manager clearly doesn't think he's good enough. Will be sold.

Guess what the difference is.

Can you verify where the Gilmour claim is substantiated?

I do think the Vertainen situation is ridiculous, but I'm not sure you can compare players like that. You could equally say:

Charlie Gilmour is 22. Was good enough to be on the books of Arsenal and Norwich in his youth. Played a full season in the Dutch second division, where they offered him a contract after his loan but Covid messed that up so came back to the UK. Went on loan to Alloa where their manager (who knows a bit about being a top quality midfielder) raved about him and said he's got a great future ahead of him.

Eetu Vertainen is 22. Played 3 seasons in the Finnish top league for HJK where he averaged 2.6 goals a season in the league, so was let go to mid-table Ilves, where he improved, scoring 4 goals in 11 games. A flash of brilliance, but not a full season to see it through.

You can spin this many ways.

Wondering what's going to happen to McCart. Hibs have lots of money now from the Boyle sale, so will they look to bring him in? Or, now they have a new manager and McCart has been so poor this season, are they not interested anymore? Might McCart sign a new deal as there isn't any interest. Similarly, if Rooney is out for a while, and hasn't played a huge amount this season, are there really going to be many clubs interested in signing him?

Suspect he might end up with a sideways move to Dundee or something like that if he doesn’t stay in Perth. Believe McPake is a fan.

Would be amazed to see him get a move to a larger team, the way this season has gone.

Worth noting Liam Gordon picked up his 6th yellow card in the 93rd minute in Wednesday's defeat at Tynecastle.

Automatic 1 game ban.  So unless we are planning on bringing Efe out of cold storage then I think the signing of another centre-half is probably required.

Is he collecting them ?

should stick to collecting cup winner medals
