With all respect to York City, I would say Scotland could expect a move to a club a little bigger.

Just so, although I'd say City's (non) league position and ropey finances are the problem; it's a decent size club averaging close to 3000 people per match, and the likelihood of much more if promotion can be grabbed at Wembley next month.

If I were a footballer and had a choice between Birmingham & York...

...well yes, I'd choose York, but anyone with a grain of sense and an eye on their bank account would head for Birmingham, but if Jason's reading this, City is a club that really could go places over the next few years, York is a fantastic place to live, and you won't find many better coaches than billy McEwan, etc, etc ;o)

The Birmingham story is in the Metro today - all it says though is that they had him watched at the weekend. These clubs will have scouts all over the country every weekend so I wouldn't read too much into it - particularly as there's no way Scotland's of that standard.

but they wouldn't be spending money on the scouts if they had no interest whatsoever, with the names that have recently arose (birmingham, cardiff, southend and york ) there is no doubt jason is on his way to bigger and better things, and desevedly so...top guy!!

Of course, I'm not saying they have "no interest whatsoever" - I'm simply saying that these clubs will have players watched all the time, and I'd be willing to bet the majority of these scouting missions are never turned into actual signings.

I agree Scotland deserves a step up and I'll wish him well wherever he goes, but I'd be pretty shocked if he takes that big a step up - he's not that good and I really can't see him getting a game for Birmingham if he somehow manages to get a deal with them. I tend to think League One would be about the right level for him - he'd have more money and bigger crowds than he gets up here, but he'd also still look good and get a game because the actual standard of football's not that much of a step up.

Birmingham could field a team of strikers given the number they have. Its highly unlikely they would be interested given that Jas isnt Premiership quality and they are more likely to offload than sign.

Mind you, they did sign Dudley J Campbell!

In the PA and The Courier today that Jason is under contract until the end of August so any club wanting him is going to have to pay for him.

If true, its another good move from the club, and this will have been done about 2 years ago....i'm impressed!

Yeah if true, thats great news. Although he has very little left on his contract I think the club should hold out for around 100k, due to his recent form and the fact we saved his career in the uk. Hope we get some money for him and he goes on to do well, a loan player would be a bonus.
