The poster that mentioned Connor Smith is generally 100%.

So that's M Smith , K Smith , C Smith . At least the name is short enough to get the first initial on the strip.

Commentators nightmare but not as bad as all those foreign names they have to struggle with .

This signing feels like a pretty big nail in Cammy MacPherson's coffin to me.

Anyone have an up-to-date list of when all our contracts expire? Feels like the squad's getting a bit bloated again but I guess we have quite a lot of players coming to the ends of their deals in the summer so the number of players will be getting trimmed quite a bit come the end of the season.

Isn’t MacPherson injured long-term and his contract expires in the summer? I think he’d be out if he wasn’t injured.

I imagine Brown will leave imminently, which is why we’re starting to look towards a striker. Please be Melamed, please be Melamed

Yeah, he is. But until he got injured Levein was speaking pretty highly of him so I think there was an opportunity there for him to play his way into a new deal.

When I looked last week at Melameds' scoring record recently I think it was 8 goals in 16 matches and several assists, but he would be a lunatic to come anywhere near us.

Quite a lot of players going out of contract, which right now I'm viewing as a good thing. Players need to either up their game to win new deals, or we replace them. Suspect for many of them it'll be the latter option, and we'll have (another) rebuild on our hands.

I get the impression Levein has perhaps been told he can sign players in this window to keep us up as long as he makes cuts in the summer, hence the new arrivals despite the lack of outgoings. Big change from previous windows where Tommy Wright was often told he couldn't sign anyone, and ended up scrabbling around for signings at the last minute.

Looking at those who are out of contract, I'd probably offer Ryan McGowan another year and I'd like Drey Wright to stay if he can get back to fitness. Seems Phillips has already decided on his future but I'd have a contract on the table for him too. Carey and Gordon I'm a bit on the fence with. Youngsters aside, I'd probably say the rest can go.

Any update on Drey’s injury and a return to action

https://www.thecourier.co.uk/fp/sport/football/st-johnstone/4878957/drey-wright-st-johnstone-ross-sinclair-injury-comeback/

Saints manager Craig Levein gave an update on the former Hibs man’s progress, revealing that the latest stage of his recuperation is an “intense programme” south of the border.

“Drey has had a programme designed for him by the people at St George’s Park,” he explained.

“Because he’s a member of the English PFA they have been able to sort out the facilities there, which is great because it’s a top-class facility.

“It makes sense to take advantage of that if it’s on offer.

“What they’ve designed for him is an intense programme which will assist with his rehab and hopefully speed him along a bit.

“He did this when he had his knee injury and felt it helped him a lot, so it was a no-brainer to let him go down and do the same again.

“It was a positive experience for him before so hopefully it will work out well again.”

Wow that’s sounds positive, I’m not saying he can walk on water or part the ocean, but gee we have no width at all in our play and hopefully his return will add something that is sorely missed right now.

Opposition teams must love the fact we don’t play with width so it makes defending our long balls or our one man up front playing facing backwards instead of running into a bit of space such an easy way to defend.
